Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin
Hi All, wanted to say thanks for creating and working on this plugin. It works great now! It would be nearly complete if the basic ability existed to add/subtract from Qobuz Favorites category. But if that is impossible, it is still great.Qobuz just launched a $15 a month offer for Studio level. I jumped on it in a second, and am quite happy so far as the best service for audiophiles and now LMS IMO. Micheal, any chance Quobuz can work with Dont Stop the Music? If it does I havent seen it selecting from there yet. Ironically Qobuz doesnt seem to have an artist or track radio feature (yet). Dont stop the music can fix this via the Last.fm API it uses. Thoughts appreciated on above Thanks again Jim Joggler O2/Squeezeplay OS w/EDO hack->Monoprice USB ->W4S DSDse -> Cardas Golden Reference XLR -> Sim Audio P-5 -> Cardas Golden Reference XLR -> Sim Audio W-5 -> Cardas Golden Reference Hi-Mid,PS Audio Xstream Plus Low-> Magnepan 3.6R /// Joggler O2/SqueezePlay OS w/EDO hack ->USB-> Oppo HA-1 -> AKG K550 ---- jt25741's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8645 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97146 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Cygwin? Not sure what is needed. I would think it can be possible though. Thanks Pippin for a great product and feature (Replaygain will be very nice when just listening to my random tracks). Also, it is clear now that anything I listen to will be downsample to 48Khz on the Ipad. I wonder how IOS handles this downsampling --- just eliminating the bits -- or some proper refiltering? On (3) above, I am just curious...do you ever enjoy using this great feature you created? If so --- what headphones do you use in your portable devices with iPeng? Just trying to get some ideas. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hello Folks, I have 3 groups questions: 1) I have various 24bit 48Khz, 88.2Khz, 96Khz, 176.4khz, and 192Khz audio files. When I stream them to the playback feature on iPeng, all of them play and work so I am confused. Which sample rates does iPeng playback losslessly? What does it do with the others? Say 192Khz is not played back losslessly, is it downsampled on the LMS Server (latest version) to what level, or somehow downsampled on the iPAD itself?I cannot see where to look and verify this behavior. 2) Replay Gain: When I turn it on for the iPad 1 player, does Smart Gain work, or Just Track Gain? 3) Headphones : Any recommendations on what the cheapie headphone circuit can best drive (iPad 1) with the highest quality bass -- My Sennheiser HD448s don't sound that great with the iPad -- I think they are not a good match. They also do dynamic range normalization. For instance, the web interface is at around 128K -- you can also listen through Yahoo Messenger at some possibly other bitrate(sounds worse to me, but may be my imagination). Only LaunchCast Plus subscribers can hear the 190K native bitrates through the Jukebox. The Jukebox(in its basic and adequate version) is free. You should download it and try it. The quality difference between this service at 190K and the Web based is significant and easy to appreciate even through PC Speakers. Plus you can play non-normalized dynamic range -- very important.I have used the Linksys Wireless Music Bridge to connect to my home stereo(very poor product compared to Slim), and appreciated the superior quality of the Jukebox stream through to my end system. You can get the Jukebox here: http://music.yahoo.com/jukebox/ Now they try and get you to upgrade to Jukebox Plus edition(not free), which gives you high-speed burning, equalizer etcAll tools I do not need.I find that the riping and library functionality of Yahoo Jukebox is below grade, and quite buggy. Its closed XML Tag library contributing to its uselessness. However, the music listening part including quality/music content -- and rating engine is unmatched and excellent. As far as how it works, I have found that the Yahoo Music Developers are kinda open to chatting to the public. They hang out on IRC. I have exchanged some feedback to them in the past. You can talk to them directly at:irc.landoleet.org, channel is "yme". They advertised this on thier public Blog(http://ymusicblog.com/blog/)Why they use IRC and not Yahoo Messenger is both ironic and funny. Frankly I cannot stand messenger or any Chat marketware for that matter ;) Best Regards Jim -- jt25741 SB3->AR Masters Coax -> PS Audio DLIII -> Cardas Golden Cross -> Sim Audio P5 -> Cardas Golden Reference -> Sim Audio W5 -> PS Audio Xtreme Plus(Low) AQCV4(mid/hi)-> Magnepan 3.6R jt25741's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8645 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26676 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

I couldn't find anything on Google or these forums. > > Thanks > -Greg Hi Greg, I saw this post a while ago and was wondering about this integration work with Yahoo LaunchCast. Have you decided to give it a shot? I certainly hope so and would totally appreciate this ability to play LaunchCast.I am a LaunchCast Plus subscriber(no commercials), with rather eclectic tastes.Of the services I have sampled, Yahoo LaunchCast has a rather deep collection(comparitively, much larger than Yahoo Music Unlimmited download service). What is particularly appealing to me is that if you use the Yahoo Jukebox(aka Music Engine), the streaming quality is unmatched across the library(I think ~190Kbps). Plus it is economical at < $3 month. If you use the web interface for LaunchCast, even for subscribers, the quality drops to a lower streaming rate(sounds like around 128Kb, but unsure exactly). A key feature for me would be to get this higher--fidelity stream authenticated through a plugin of somekind, and streaming through the SB. Then, a plus would be to integrate the browse buttom with the station playlists, defaulting perhaps to the personal-station.
