Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin

Once again I want to give my much appreciated compliments for making and
improving the plugin all the time.
This plugin has made using my squeezebox for the rest of the family even
more fun and easier.
Fortunately, people are still willing to give support and use their
specific knowledge.
Thanks again for developing this plugin

Hi Guys,

I'm using the plugin with a lot of pleasure every time.
A few days a go i had an issue with my server an needed to reinstall
Squeezebox server and the plugin
The pluginis working and i've set my volume to 100%
Before the reinstallation i saw at the volume bar in the webbrowser
(material skin) the percentage of the volume.
No it is gone and i can control the volume of my Denon, but don't see a
numner/percentage

Missed i somewhere a setting ?

Hi Sam,

I'm enjoying the plugin very much and every time i'm using the
Squeezebox.
My LMS is running on a Linux server and is indead always powered ON and
also has a UPS to protect an inmediate shutdown (not very good for a
server)
The function "Resume at power On" is very handy in use.

When i power on my Squeezebox it powers on the Denon and starts to play.
No extra steps needed (Wife friendly  )

I don not know if you can detect the reboot time or something so you can
calculate this back ?

Hi,

Currently no issues with the plugin. All is working well.

When the squeezebox has been switched off due to, for example, a power
failure, the squeezebox will restart.
The amplifier will of course also be switched on. And Of course this
happens at times you don't want to.
Is it possible not to turn on the amplifier after the squeezebox has
restarted?

Great feature !

Chris,

Now the Denon turns on/off when you turn on the Squeezebox.
If the Squeezebox and the AVR are on and I switch to TV with the AVR by
selecting QS1 on my Denon APP, the Squeezebox stays on (obviously)
If you then turn off the Squeezebox, the AVR will also turn off, but I
want to leave my AVR on to listen to the TV

Is it possible to leave the AVR on if you have switched to another QS?

Changed the setting to fixed 100% and by the volume changing in LMS the
AVR volume is changing

I'm using on my Denon not the dB scale, but the 0-98 scale.
So the 27 is then i think 27% and -53db ?

I understand the 100% fixed outpout, but somhow i want also control the
volume a little bit with LMS.
Therefor i try to achieve a level of 80% of LMS to tweak the volume a
little bit remotly. If i want to get volume very high i will walk to
the Amp to control the volume.

My question is maybe not clear explained by me.
The question was if it is possible to change the maximum volume field in
to % instead of the dB scale ?
This will not change the functionality of the setting, but makes it
easier to setup or control. Maybe not so easy to change

I have the quick select seet to 27.0 and my SB at -49 (leads to 78%)
Problem is when you change it a bit you need to figure out the complete
setting to get the right output volume.

Is it possible to readout the volume of the Denon ? and use this
Or is it maybe possible to fill in in the settingmenu of LMS the Denon
volume and use this as an input ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin

2021-05-14 Thread madpatrick

Hi,

I''m not sure if what i''m experiencing is how the plugin is mentioned
to work, but this what is the case with my setup.

I've setup the plugin as follows
Volume AVR  27   /  Plugin -49 -> LMS 78%

When i control the volume within LMS or Ipeng +2 volume AVR +0.5
So increasing the volume of LMS also increased the volume (looks like
doubling the volume level)
Not a big issue, but noted.

Then, when ik set my volume of the AVR to for example 38 / LMS stays on
78% and then increase on LMS with +1 or -1 the volume of the AVR goes
directly back to 27
So it looks like the AVR is set back to the configuration of the start
setup.

The option Synchronisation of volume within the plugin is disabled, but
somehow it synchronise the volume from LMS to AVR.

Is it normal that the volume level of LMS also controls the AVR ?
Especially when put the AVR loader and LMS is kicking it back to
programmed level of the plugin

I hope i've explained my situation correctly to make it clear to
understand

Active as in On. In the display i see the option Z2 and i can turn it
off with the button on the AVR.
In DenonAvpControl i only have Main Zone selected.

Ok. No problem. It was just a nice to have functionality.

I notice btw that my Zone 2 is active when i use the squeezebox.
This is not in my setup of my quick-select nor i have activated (so far
i can see in my settings)

Could it be triggered by the plugin ?

Great. I will test the new version the coming days.

Is it a possibility to disable the poweroff when you switch of the
Squeezebox when it is on a different Quick select.
For example, when i'm lisiting to the squeezebox, but want to switch to
my mediaplayer (with sound over the AVR) i don't want to switch off the
AVR and the switch it on again

First i want share my happiness with this plugin. It works great and
makes life a lot easier.

Maybe i’ve missed something on the development or on the forum, but is
it correct that when i change the volume on my squeezebox, volume of the
AVR is also changing ?
I mean literally. The volume number is changing on the AVR display.

The option “Enable synching the volume” is not enabled

Great. Will check it out

One point for attention.
In the configuration you can chosse 3 Quick selects, but my AVR has 4
Quick selects.
Not a major issue, but maybe good to know that the newer AVR are having
4 Quick selects

The plugin is working nicely and i learning every day how handle my new
Denon Receiver.

Is it possible to set the volume of the squeezebox at a fixed start
level.
Now my receiver is set to a start volume level and also the squeezebox,
but this is too low at start.
I like for example to set the receiver at 50 and my squeezebox at 75%

It looks like the squeezeboxis taking over the level of the receiver at
start.

I’m looking for a new receiver to replace my current.
The functionality/integration with LMS would be great
If the plugin can control the receiver this would be way step forward.
Does this plugin all Denon AVR receivers ? Or is it limited to certain

Hello Erland,

Thanks for replying.
Your complete were right. My webserver redirects to HTTPS. This has been
so since a few years, but propobly the font was in the cache of my touch
or something.
Move the fonts to another HTTP location and it is working

Is it possible to placve the font on the Touch locally and link it this

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2021-03-08 Thread madpatrick

Hi
I know that by upgrading to the latest version it could break Erlands
apps.
I was running LMS 8.1.1 for a few months without any problem.
This weekend i took the risk of upgrading my Touch to the latest
firmware.
After grade and reinstalling the features it hangs my Touch after a few
minutes.
Downgrading to the official firmware did not resolve the issue.

After a lot resets and trails i found out the using fonts in Custom
Clock was the problem.
I was using some custom fonts in .zip file for years.
Now these lead to a freeze of my Touch.

Does anybody having the same problem or is there a solution for this.
Or has the update of the firmware or LMS broke this function in Custom
Clock ?

Tried to upgrade the IO::Socket::SSL version and it upgrade nicely to
v2.068

Code:

install IO::Socket::SSL
IO::Socket::SSL is up to date (2.068).

But when I restart Squeezeboxserver, it still says i'm running on a old
version v1.94

Code:

 You're using a rather old version of IO::Socket::SSL (v1.94) - please try
to update to at least 2.020 for improved compatibility.

Cleaned up some of the bugs found - rounded and un-rounded wunderground

Updated sunset and sunrise 12-hour bug (sorry, it's still 12 hour am/pm
 format)
Changed the way it handles the 1 and 2 near-term forecasts (based
now on hourly - ~6 hours out, ~24 hours out). Feedback appreciated -
not sure if happy with it.
Added space in windspeed between direction (East) and value (4) was
 East4, now is East 4.
I never coded windspeed in kt/hr nor m/sec.

I am uploading new complete .zip, as well as updated Plugin.zip

Hi Tom,

your effort is great and all is working.

a request: can you add the revision number in the plugin.pm to keep
track of the right version.

thanks !!

I expect most of you will move on to use tcutting's WU API variant of
SDT. However, if there are any of you interested in a resurrection of
 a weather.com capable SDT I have attached a plugin.pm file with my
initial results extracting and parsing weather.com JSON data into SDT.
 Still a lot to do.

What I have working seems to work as before. The one big caveat is you
need to change your weather.com city code to the complete city
 identifier.
 i.e. - Olathe KS = 66062:4:US
 London UK = UKXX0085:1:UK

 Cheers... Don

PS - I expect weather.com may be more stable going forward since they
moved to JSON data. They can reformat the webpage all they want and
still use the same JSON data files.

Hello Guys,

Appreciate the good work very much.
Is it possible to keep the version history up to date in plugin.pm, to
keep track of the changes and latest version.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Custom Clock applet for Touch/Radio/Controller

2011-11-06 Thread madpatrick

Correct. In the interface it is missing.
I've made 3 custom styles some time ago, but only use 1.
The style is also visible/selctable on the SB touch.

i'm using the 30-day trial license at the moment, because i wanted to
test first the new versions.

my prefs location in SBS/information is :
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs

Location of customclockhelper.prefs is
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/plugin

I finally got mine working with the manual patch. Here is what I did.
 For Win 7:

 1. Stop Squeezebox Server
 2. Open cmd window as Administrator
 3. cd C:\Program Files

 4. ren Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par
 Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip
 5. Open Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip with WinZip or other archive
 tool (I use WinRAR).
 6. Within the zip file, drill down to \lib\Plugins\SuperDateTime
 7. Open Plugin.pm with a text editor (preferably something that gives
you line numbers such as NotePad ++). You can edit the file while it is
still in the archive so no need to extract.
 8. Edit the lines give in earlier threads
 in line 3067 change twc-col-2 to twc-col-2
 in line 3155 change twc-col-3 to twc-col-3
 in line 3242 change twc-col-4 to twc-col-4
 in line 3468 change twc-col-1 to twc-col-1 twc-line-nar
 9. Keep the extra space after 'twc-line-nar' in line 3468.
 10. Save the file and exit the editor. WinRAR asked me if I wanted to
update the archive. I said Yes.
 11. If you extracted the file to make edits, be sure to re-add the file
 to the archive.
 12. Back at the cmd window, ren Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.zip
 Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par
 13. Start Squeezebox.

Mine is working again --- at least until weather.com changes their
 website.

A minor nuisance for something I've come to depend on. Good luck!

This fix worked for me

It's 12:45PM local time -- The forecasts for both tonights are the

You mean the visualisers as available on the device? Just press Now
Playing until you have the visualiser you want. Then let the
 screensaver
 kick in.

Hello Michael,

Correct. I ment the visualisers. I´d tried that and it didn´t work, but
after choosing a different song it was there. maybe a hick-up :-)

When using the time/date format hh.mm.ss dd.mm. the last digit is
out of the screen.
Can this be adjusted to the left ??

For those of you running 7.3+, I now have a SuperDateTime repository
available to make downloading/updating easy. This repo is usually
updated faster than the main repo provided by Slim Devices.

Please give it a shot by adding:

Greg,

Upgrading to this new version doesn't work with the repository. After
restarting the server the upgrade report is still coming back.
