Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Family for Squeezebox
I'm aware of Spotty, it works fine but is not the same thing. I was hoping to not have to use my phone to control Spotify on my Squeezebox Radio but I can live with it... You don't need a phone. You can navigate most of the Spotify content right there on your player. Back to Squeezebox 1 and SliMP3, it's all compatible. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Regarding SpotifyFamily I was hoping for an easy fix for the playlists since everything else (recent albums, recent artists, search, ...) still works as before. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Family for Squeezebox
An old thread and the author of SpotifyFamily has not been active on the forum for long time, but I still have to ask: Playlists are no longer retrieved to SpotifyFamily, I guess because something has changed on the Spotify side. Spotify announced the end of the underlying libspotify more than a year ago. I'm surprised the plugin is still working at all. That's the reason why I created the Spotty plugin. Give it a try. It allows you to use multiple accounts, too. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Have an iMac with the LMS on, have been using the Triode plugin which was working fine but now Playlists from Spotify will not load, so I looked in the extra third party plugins, found the Spotify Triode Family there and chose that, but it doesn't seem to work. The 1st choice of The Spotify Family plugin won't work any better than Triode's. It's the same, just allowing you to use more than one instance of it. Typically problems with Spotify are firewall problems. I have reinstalled LMS to try to repair problems but I have never used this plug-in (family account) except as a single user so I am unaware of any problems from that. Which version of LMS are you using and more information on your NAS might help some one figure out what's keeping the helper app from running. I would try to install the Normal Spotify plug in with the Protocol Helper and see if that works before I would reinstall LMS. I assume you had Triodes version working before you tried the family version. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Family for Squeezebox
There is another way of doing this if all you want is players for kids with their own Spotify and you are prepared to buy them a new player. Raspberry Pi with piCorePlayer 2.0x. Install LMS with NO library. Log said LMS in to mySB with normal account (gives you Official Spotify). Install Spotify Protocol Handler with the kids login. In Squeezelite settings set server as 127.0.0.1. This player can now access the Kids Spotify at the same time as your main setup. The full library is available via remote music libraries. Works a treat. *Vortexbox LMS 7.8 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105786 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I haven't used the Protocol Handler version. Mine was designed around my requirements of having each member of the family listen to their own account through the squeezebox in their room. Also syncing, sharing, and allowing me to control centrally! I'll have a look into the Protocol Handler version once I've uploaded the Mac and Windows version. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Family for Squeezebox
As Michael has now repackaged Triode's plugin as the Spotify Protocol Handler for use with the Official Spotify Plugin on all players can this be made to run in conjunction with that as well as or instead of Triode's original plugin ? *Vortexbox LMS 7.8 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105786 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Family for Squeezebox
Spotify has recently improved the value of the Family Plan. This was fantastic news in our house, but wouldn't provide the full benefit until everybody could access their own account through their SqueezeBox. I'm a long time use of the wonderful Triode Plugin, and have extended this to enable six concurrent Spotify streams. This is currently Linux only, and has only been tested on i386, but should work on arm processors also (Which should cover most NAS boxes) I'm planning on releasing Windows and Mac version in the next few days. All credit to Triode for his work on the original plugin and other contributions to the community over the years. Thanks also to Mika Fisher for showing that side by side plugins were possible and for showing the way. First post, so will post the links in the next post.
