Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.67 (Windows frontend)
I've been looking for a small footprint controller and recently gave Moose a try, but I'm having 2 small problems with it and I hope someone can help me out. The first problem is when it's playing back a playlist. When Moose comes to a song without an album cover, the Now Playing display gets stuck. The display will stay on that song until I do something like open and close my prefs. The Squeezebox will keep playing the playlist normally. My second problem is when I click on the Library tab, Moose tells me there's .moo database. I tell it to build one, but it always gets stuck scanning covers, so it never completes the operation and a .moo database is never built. Sorry if these are Noob questions with obvious solutions, but I keep playing around with the program and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help with these? -- silicon monkey silicon monkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19744 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49269 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Moose is a fantastic program and pretty much a "must have" for anyone who wants to use a computer to control their SqueezeBox or Transporter. It's much faster and far more versatile than using the SqueezeCenter web interface. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.67 (Windows frontend)
I started using SC 7.2 and recently noticed a couple problems with Moose 0.67a. 1. When using the Album Chooser drop down window to play tracks... the tracks are not sorted correctly on albums that I have added "recently". The albums that I added prior to 7.2 are fine. All albums, including the ones I added recently, are sorted correctly when I view them via the library tree. 2. SqueezeSlave on the desktop is broken. It jumps randomly from track to track after it plays the first track. I suspect that something has changed with the SqueezeSlave interface in 7.2 as it was working fine with 7.1. Moose works fine if I select my SB3 as a player. Below are the errors I see in the server log after I try selecting another song to play in my desktop. The last line repeats endlessly. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.67 (Windows frontend)
I've got some Moose suggestions: 1. I like having Moose iconised to task tray. I like the New Track Toast popup when a track changes. However, I don't like the popup when I move the mouse over the tray icon, or to right-click on the tray icon to get to the menu. A simple instant hover text tooltip may be nice for mouse-over tray icon, which would disappear if any mouse clicks occur, leaving the toast popup as-is for track changes. 2. Double-click on tray icon opens Moose window, but another double-click on tray icon doesn't close the window. 3. If I change the player volume using the slider control on the main Moose window, the control remains active, but there's no indication that it's active. I've occasionally accidentally then subsequently changed the volume by using the mouse wheel, instead of scrolling the playlist up/down. Perhaps after changing volume, the focus should be lost? 4. Not sure what the popcorn button is meant to do. 5. In Library window, there's a Genres filter. Is this work in progress? Popular and Alphabetic only have "All Genres" and "More Genres ->" which is empty. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Dr Lovegrove, thanks again for the timely update. I installed the new version and rescanned the library with no problem, but now I have a new problem. It is a different issue either with Moose or with one of the new plugins. Whenever I create a MusicIP playlist and click play, the player plays a few seconds of each songs and loops around the playlist. I'm on my way out the door and won't be able to look into it until later this afternoon, but I'm attaching a portion of the server log with the relevant errors that appear after I click the Create MusicIP Playlist and then click Play. DrLovegrove- Thanks for improving an already really nice application. I really appreciate the ability to select tracks from the Cover Chooser. Like Nonreality, I see the strange sorting for some of my albums. I believe it has to do with the actual filenames - the cases I'm seeing are where I've put a multi-disc album into a single directory - but the file names have the order as ripped, so when sorted by file name, the "01 - firsttrackinonedisk..." and "01-firsttrackinanotherdisk" are consecutive, whereas they're tagged as say, track 1 and track 20. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.67 (Windows frontend)
Just uploaded a new version of Moose to the usual signatory places.. Main new feature is support for MusicIP.. For this to work you must have a recent-ish nightly of SqueezeCentre 7.1 and MusicIP both happily working together.. Currently support is limited to the context menus in the library, tree view, cover chooser and now playing playlist. If you click 'Create MusicIP playlist' a new dialog will open with the proposed playlist in. If you're not happy, there's an option to re-request it, otherwise, click play. If the list is empty it's probably either because the selected seed item hasnt been scanned, or no player is connected.. Also in 0.67 I've added track support to the cover chooser.. Again this is via the context menu, and you can play, add or insert individual tracks. Other changes include: * Library - track number sorting now supports more than 100 tracks correctly * Library - internal structure altered and auto-rescan code tweaked * Library - contents now updated post rescan Enjoy, -- - Dr Lovegrove http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove http://groups.google.com/group/moosenews ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
