It's a SQLite related bug, the current version only works with MySQL, I

I may be dense most of this seems obvious to all that is already
using MIP and sugarcube .

So I having a hard time to find step by step instructions on how to
make this go .

I have a headless (no gui ) linux server CC4.2 OS (rhel 4.4 sort of)
perl 5.8.8 .

what do I need to install and how ? how do I set it up afterwards .

Installing the plugin was no harder than ticking a box in the repo...

But the rest ?? :-/

How do you donate to cparker btw

Mnyb,
I run the regular MIP and control it through the console. It is
essential to start MIP before Squeezebox Server (SB) so that SB can
recognize that MIP is running.
MIP has to analyze your music, I archive the analysis and MIP writes
2 tags, ANALYSIS and FINGERPRINT.
Lots of good info in the Spicefly site - for example

2011-09-12 Thread Blisteringblue

A slightly odd issue but is this a known one?

Sugarcube is working fine, but I tried it for the first time with my
boom and receiver sync'd and the seed track plays fine, but when any
subsequent tracks play they are not in sync? It is only slight but it
is there?

If I stop and start the boom they come back on in sync but are out
again when the next track starts?

However if I add a full album and leave that to play through it remains
in sync?

Receiver is wired and Boom is Wireless ?

Any ideas?

You could do what I do - just queue what you want to play next and
leave the SugarCube track at the end. Sugarcube will take over again
when your manually added tracks are finished playing. (I guess that is
with the Dynamic Queueing Cparker referred to.) It's great because you
can still hand-pick stuff, but the music keeps going so you don't have
to think about what next? until you are ready to.

After recently discovering MusicIP which is working fine I'm intreagued
by the Sugarcube for the thought a pick a track and away you go
mixes.

I've donated and have the install parameters which installs v3.02 which
as I understand it is fine for my 7.6.1 squeezecentre and SQLite.

Well it looks like it has installed correctly. I have the new realtime
spicefly sugarcube icon and I have enabled it under the player settings
for Squeezeplay as a test for now.

It just will not work, you start a track playing and all you get are
constant playing next - the same track name and it just stops after
the single track.

I get the following in my server log, so it would appear to be a miss
somewhere.

Good stuff ! Now you can start tweeking the parameters to get the
mixing to your taste. I find the live view in the GUI very helpful, the
number of tracks shown is set in the MIP mix parameters. There are some
discussions in the Spicefly forum that may be of interest.

2011-08-22 Thread bakker_be

I already posted this on the Spicefly forum too, but I'd like to ask you
guys to shed a light too :)
I have quite a lot of compilations with Album Artist set to Various,
but different Track Artists. Block Artist repeating is set to 20
tracks, but somehow this doesn't quite work out. I'll get for instance
a Whitesnake track from a Rock ballads compilation, followed
immediately by a Whitesnake track from Live, in the heart of the
city.
Is it somehow possible to ignore the Album Artist for mix creation?

According to my knowledge difference between 3.02 and 3.5 is an
additional sqlite database which handles the sugarcube data. This seems
to interact with ipeng when it is used as player on the ipod/ipad. Then
you will observe dropouts on the on these devices. I have also observed
dropouts on my SB3 when i played music on the ipod. There is also a
thread in the spicefly forum. This is the reason, why i still use 3.02.

Actually a track was found and added in the server.log, without error,
but strangely not passed to the player...

Anyway I did the following:
- Deleting my m3lib musicIP file
- Uninstalled SBS 7.6.1 and deleted everything
- Regenerated my MUSICIP database (had the ID in tags, so it went
fast)
- Installed 7.6.1 from yesterday evening without plugins

Now I have all my music correctly displayed and mixable.

I installed sugarcube afterwards along with trackstat.

Only thing I lost in the process was my trackstat database, but that's
not a big issue...

Sometimes its greyed out when its scanning. Try waiting for it to
finish and then go into the menus and try to select it. Failing that
just select all your music files in the gui window and right click and
select Archive Analysis modifies file (or something like that) and it
will punch it into the files.

Also Right Click in the left window where it has Library and select new
filter, and select Match All conditions; Stored Analysis... is
missing...
This will then create a filter view that will show files that dont have
the analysis saved within them, which you may find helpful.

Cheers
