Well the muso forum appears to be down at the moment (June 16, 2017) so I will try posting my issue here. This is a generic problem with .NET ClickOnce projects if the software is unsigned - temporarily disabling antivirus is the way to go if you want to install it - if enough people reported it as a false positive the issue would be resolved. I realise that this may prevent many people installing it, but signing with a digital certificate is not something I want to be forced into. -- muso developer jezbo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9888 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
Hi Jezbo, I am developing a minimalist wav player and trying to get the absolute best sound, this means that the player has to be disconnected from the front end as all it does is render wav files. I was hoping I could use Muso as a front end, but for that I would need something like the ability to select a null player in Muso and then for selected/queued tracks or albums to be written to a file. The player would then be started manually and would read the file. Looking for minimal change to Muso, but it would help me a lot. Do you think this would be possible ? He, he :-) I enjoy this conversation - temperature is rising :-) Yes, ALL new albums added are without album art - unless I first empty the DB completely (That's why I called it "incremental"). The reason I haven't mentioned this before, is simply because untill a few days ago I consequetly cleared the database and reloaded everything, everyday (or, to be more precise; Every night). I need no scheduler to do that. I just initiate the process before going to bed. And the next morning - all is done. But I have learned later that Muso really doesn't use that much time as i.e. LMS who goes on and on for 5-7 hours. And I do know that Muso uses the CLI interface to play the music, so please disregard that remark. However, in order for Muso to allow "Edit Tag", I have a strong feeling that Muso actually has to read the content from the MP3 File - and consequently I took this as a sign that Muso does have all the access working for it. So, I was puzzled as to why Muso could read every tag except album art, when doing an "incremental" (sorry for that word) scan. And, on the other hand - that the problem goes away if I first clear the DB. It lead me to assume that there was a difference in execution path between the two situations. I'm happy to forward a copy of the log, but please - can you tell me how to initiate debug mode as well as the name of the log file to send? oyvindo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19302 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

By "where are the MP3 files" I mean exactly that - whether they are on an external NAS or local drive is critical. If on an external NAS muso can import them from LMS and direct LMS to play them WITHOUT being able to access them itself - it only needs the path reference as LMS know it (eg. /storage/music/...). To be able to access them itself it needs the path mapping set up, eg to translate this to F:\music - and this is necessary for it to be able to extract artwork from the MP3 files. Apologies I thought you understood this. How do you do an import during the night? Muso doesn't have an import scheduling capability. Log file is necessary to diagnose - so please try again on an incremental import - send to supp...@klarita.net zipped if large. jezbo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9888 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If > you get a chance, when you next want to add albums, start in debug mode > and capture any failure to find artwork for new albums in a muso.log > file. Import is form LMS (always). What does "try to find" mean? The album art in my files are always stored imbedded inside the MP3 files themselves. If the result had been just a problem with the odd album here and there, I would have concluded that the problem was in the file tagging. But this problem is consistant and all albums added incrementally are without album art. I do not understand what you mean by "where are the MP3 files" ? They are stored on a NAS.. (!) Muso has no promblem finding the MP3 files. Everything else collected by Muso is correct and all files plays well when I hit Play inside Muso. All that is missing is the artwork. And I am not sure I understand your question "... immediately after import"... Import takes place during the night. It's when I get up in the morning, that I see the result, so I have no way of knowing how to interpret "immediately after". The NAS is on 24/7 and since Muso correctly collects everything else, I assume that availablility and access is not an issue here. I can try the debug you suggest, but I do not know how to initiate Muso in debug mode or the resulting name of the log file to send to you. (Last time you asked me to send you a log file, we gave up, since the log file turned out to be 20Mb in size.) :-) Keep in mind that if I delete the DB and rescan everything, Muso always collects Album Art correctly on all albums. Only when I do an incremental import that this problem occurs. oyvindo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19302 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I don't think I understand your answer My assumptions are these; I have a large number of Albums where "Album Artist"="Various Artists", but only a few (18 in total) where the field "Artist" of all the songs in the album contains the same value. It is these albums that Muso lists with an empty "Album Artist" field. The same 18 albums list just fine as "Various Artists" in LMS own Web interface (and any other client for that matter). So my conclusion is that this is a result og Muso doing. Am I wrong? oyvindo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19302 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread
I'd like to shift focus from this thread to a discussion area dedicated to Muso when logging bugs or feature requests. I have created this here: http://muso.wetpaint.com/forum In here you will find the right areas to post bugs and requests to. You can still post to this Squeezebox thread and I will monitor it regularly, but I may ask you to report new bugs/feature-requests as new threads under the Muso discussion area so that we can keep proper track of them. If any bugs/requests have been lost in this long LMS thread, please feel free to add them now to the Muso discussion area and I will respond in there to each one. Apologies again for the ads in the Muso wiki/forums - it's a monthly cost to have them removed (and some months I make zero on Muso!). For convenience you don't have to create a username in the Muso discussion area, though if this becomes the focus of abuse I may have to change this later. jezbo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9888 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I thought this might be the case and I am partly to blame since I really don't use the "album artist" tag in any meaningful way besides which I would have to go back and edit the tags on most of music library, not something I'm going to do anytime soon, if ever. jezbo wrote: > It uses a LAST.FM API which provides this info: > http://ws.audioscrobbler.com/2.0/?method=artist.getsimilar&artist=Duke%20Ellington&api_key=571f533524545be0f14794f7316eb0ba > (it uses any with a match score of 0.7 or greater, this could possibly > be lowered for Jazz since "Duke Ellington & John Coltrane" is given a > similarity score of 0.45549) Again I thought this was the case. So that would leave several options: 1) Lower the match score. 2) See if the last.fm data can be modified. 2) Provide a way for the similar artists list to be modified by the user, since the last.fm data often is not very good or useful. ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Are there multiple jazz genres you use > which you'd like to combine in a "Jazz mode" like the Classical mode > does now? I'm glad you asked because there is one thing that I've been meaning to ask you about which might improve things a bit. I'll try to explain things as best as I can. When one is listening to a given recording, say one by Duke Ellington, and one opens muso to the album "now playing" screen, along the right side there is displayed "More by this artist", which lists all the other recordings in one's music library by the artist with the same name, and below that "By Similar Artists", which lists recordings in one's music library by "similar artists". Okay two suggestions/questions/comments/whatever: For the "More by this artist" listing - I've noticed that only recordings by artists with the EXACT same name show up in this list. For example when playing a recording by the artist "Duke Ellington" one only sees recordings by artist "Duke Ellington" but not any recordings with the name "Duke Ellington" as part of the artist name, e.g. ""Duke Ellington & John Coltrane" or ""Duke Ellington Quartet". Is there a way to add all the recordings by artists with "Duke Ellington" as part of the artist's name? For the "By Similar Artists" listing - first how are the similar artists selected and second is there a way to override or add to the list of whom MUSO considers similar artists. So for example when playing Duke Ellington the similar artists list only includes "Count Basie" but not "Benny Carter", "Benny Goodman", "Ben Webster" or "Billy Strayhorn" etc. These four artists being but a small sampling of artists similar to Duke Ellington. Expanding either or both of these lists would greatly improve MUSO as far as this jazz fan is concerned. ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I've been using 1.5.12 all afternoon and so far no issues to report with the player losing connection or albums failing to queue correctly - thanks for the fix Jezbo. However I have found a small issue when browsing into wikipedia through Muso - the 'back' button doesn't always take you to where I would expect (ie back to the music browser), but will go to a previously viewed wikipedia (or other web) page. Repeat pressing of 'back' eventually gets back to the browser, but not always the last viewed selection. And I also have a couple of minor requests. When using a custom background image that is smaller than the displayed area could it be made to stretch to fit? And also, could the the right mouse button menu include the 'play next' function, and could the rmb menu be available for Groups and Disks? Many thanks again. Your log has captured the error: SS:sendex:A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond It's talking about the telnet connection with the CLI. Now, I just have to find out why it's doing this, or try to auto-recover. If anyone could capture a log of the other issue (queueing a whole album failing after a few tracks), I can establish whether it's the same underlying issue. jezbo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9888 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hopefully you will get the necessary logs captured and this elusive bug corrected. ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
