Hello all, I am also having problems playing a podcast on my Boom. I get the same error: PROBLEM: UNABLE TO PLAY FILETYPE FOR: [poccast] I have read through this post and tried the options. My Podcast is setup in MSB.com as: http://www.stephenfry.com/podcasts/rss.xml I have installed the Podcast Player App, and it is now at the home screen of the Boom. I can select it, and then select the individual podcast, I then get to the option screen where it has the save to favourites option and a bit of about information. But it can not play. The Podcast player Rocks!!! I was able to add NPR Car Talk and Marketplace Podcasts. I am runnning Squeezeserver 7.4.1 on my HP Smartserver running windows home server. I went to http://www.mysqueezebox.com/appgallery, looked down the list unitil I found Podcast Player then clicked install. Then I went to My Apps, Clicked on Podcast Player, and it showed a list of installed podcasts. At the end of the list I added: http://marketplace.publicradio.org/RSS/marketplace.php http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast.php?id=510208 for Marketplace and Car Talk. Now I can select My Apps, Podcast Player, Car Talk on my Squeezebox controller, and I get a list of the most recent shows. I can select the show I want to hear. After adding the Car Talk URL to my mysqueeezebox.com - I can play the podcasts through my SB3 and Radio either when attached to SBS or to mysqueezebox.com So I have no problems playing this URL. OK, I seem to have figured it out. I was attempting to simply 'play' from the title of the podcast. I did not realize that you need to go to the next level of the menu, and scroll past 'about this podcast' to get the most current instance of the podcast in order to play something. Slightly odd, but at least it seems more understandable now. Now on to attempt to get my SB to synchronize with my SoftSqueeze! Bpa, Do you have a podcast player app under my apps in SBS? (that comes from mysqueezebox.com) To play podcasts in SBS I have to add the podcasts in SBS. To play podcasts in mysqueezeboxcom I have to add the podcasts on my squeezebox.com. This is the only app that is this way. The intent behind the new App podcast player is that user defines podcast sources once on mysqueezebox.com and the list is available whether player is connected to SBS or or mySB. Any podcasts defined on mySB are available to all my player all the time from the player interface. I do not have a podcast player under SBS My Apps WebUI. I think this is a bug as the Podcasts menu under Extras is a left over from an old plugin and only plays podcast defined on SBS but only from WebUI. Bpa, My problem is that SBS pulls the list of podcasts from SBS and not mysqueezebox.com. I tested this by deleting a podcast. If I delete it from SBS it is deleted. If I delete it on mysqueezebox.com nothing changes. the enabled podcast player does not show under my apps. Podcast player, which pulls the list of podcasts from the settings in SBS appears under Extras. I added the Car Talk url you mentioned through the Podcast Player page in mysqueezebox.com. The podcast then becomes available when I switch the player over to mysqueezebox.com but unfortunately, I still get the same deal. For me to play podcasts in squeezebox server I have to set them up within the server software. The podcasts then appear under extras. It seems, at least for me, that the podcasts on mysqueezebox.com only are available when using the mysqueezebox.com player. The podcast app has never showed up in the my apps list. Here are two that work for me, it took me a while to come to understand that the Podcast Menu had been removed in v7.4 and all moved to the MyApps option on the Web. Is anyone using this successfully? I've got everything set up nicely on the menu and on mysqueezebox.com, but if I try to play anything, I always get the message: PROBLEM: UNABLE TO PLAY FILETYPE FOR: [poccast] I I've tried this for many different podcasts, all of which seem to work fine from iTunes.
