possibly have problems with this, but it's practically unmaintanable
anyway so I have to say I wouldn't worry too much about that if it's
getting in your way.

(if anyone is interested in picking up the squeezecenter port, I suggest
moving to the internal copies of modules as much as possible, yeah it
sucks, but so does keeping track of dirty dependencies on internal APIs

I have since switched my squeezeboxes to connecting to vortexbox

is it entirely too terrible to have more than one emulator for the same

absolutely not, but the in-tree version of generator doesn't work.

 absolutely not, but the in-tree version of generator doesn't work.

I have a port of gens-gs also, but I did not post it becuase it was
limited:

 * It refuses to build on amd64 (configure actually exits with this as
   an excuse). I am guessing this is probably because no-one has yet
   written the assembler code in amd64 calling convention.

 * There is a segfault bug in mono sound in gens-gs.

 * Does not perform as well as dgen-sdl.

In general dgen-sdl was just a better emulator for me -- that's all :) I
don't see any reason why we can't have 1 genesis emulator in tree, just
they should all work.

We actually have sdlmess in tree, which can do megadrive emulation, but
it is painfully slow.

For what it is worth, my gens-gs effort is attached. It is nowhere near
finished.

 While ANSI color escape codes are fairly simple, it can be hard to remember
 the codes for all of the attributes and the code resulting from hard-coding
 them into your script is definitely difficult to read. This module is
 designed to fix those problems, as well as provide a convenient interface
 to do a few things for you automatically (like resetting attributes after
 the text you print out so that you don't accidentally leave attributes
 set).

 Despite its name, this module can also handle non-color ANSI text
 attributes (bold, underline, reverse video, and blink). It uses either of
 two interfaces, one of which uses constants for each different attribute
 and the other of which uses two subs which take strings of attributes as
 arguments.

Hi,

Term::ANSIColor is a core perl routine what is the reason for updating a
core routine. This already in OpenbSD 5.1 current.

$ locate Term/ANSIColor

 It should work everywhere, but it won't reflect the most current usage.

Ok, guys... I'm going to revert this.

Thanks for the clarification

 Only default value is 'x11'.

Yes, that's what just about everybody will use then.

 Just go to Edit-Preferences-Player and choose your favorite
 video output (xv,gl,sdl,whatever...)

You are diverging from the upstream defaults to create a setting
that almost all users should then manually change back.

Hi,

Term::ANSIColor is a core perl routine it should not be necessary to
create and install a new package. If that was the case then a specific
version requirement should be defined in the WWW::YouTube::Download

The RUN_DEPEND on devel/p5-Term-ANSIColor should be removed, and the

Only a quick test, but works without p5-Term-ANSIColor, if it's a red

The way to do things properly would be to auto-detect xv and use it, and
fall back to x11 otherwise.

(see xvinfo and xvctl's code, in general, you want to detect that you have
an xv extension *and* that it has useful adapters.

This is probably about 20 lines of code...

Somewhat works here (but not 100%) stable, tested playback and
capture.

  It is possible to run jackd on top of aucat(1) with the 'sndio' driver.
  However, the aucat server must be running at a higher than default
 -scheduling priority. The aucat(1) manual has an example for doing this
 -with renice(8). Note that jackd will use aucat's block size as it's

 +  $ sndiod -b 1024 -z 1024
$ sudo renice -20 `pgrep -x aucat`
$ jackd -d sndio -p 1024 -n 2

this part slightly changed: aucat was renamed to sndiod and now is started
using rc.d(8). For instance:

AFAICS, the sndio backend could be simplified (sndio changed) which
could make jack more stable. I don't have time for it right away, but

Thanks Nigel for feedback. New port attached with fixed regress tests.
Not sure is this the way to go long term. See patches for details. I've
also reformatted pkg/DESCR to width of 72 characters.

There is still one test skipped, but we don't have dependency in ports.
I think it's not worth to port it just for this regress test:

t/29_http-lwp-withcache.t .. skipped: LWP::UserAgent::WithCache is not loaded.

Other than that, all looks good to me:

All tests successful.

 Hi,

 Term::ANSIColor is a core perl routine what is the reason for updating a
 core routine. This already in OpenbSD 5.1 current.

 $ locate Term/ANSIColor
 /usr/libdata/perl5/Term/ANSIColor.pm

 DESCR is too long, and not warped to 72 characters.

Thanks. Yeah, this Perl module is in base. In the past I was wrapping
description at 75 characters. I see in Porter's Guide recommended
value is also 72. I will stick with the value from documentation then.

 Thanks Nigel for feedback. New port attached with fixed regress tests.
 Not sure is this the way to go long term. See patches for details. I've
 also reformatted pkg/DESCR to width of 72 characters.

 There is still one test skipped, but we don't have dependency in ports.
 I think it's not worth to port it just for this regress test:

 t/29_http-lwp-withcache.t .. skipped: LWP::UserAgent::WithCache is not loaded.

 Other than that, all looks good to me:

 All tests successful.
 Files=54, Tests=1200, 76 wallclock secs ( 0.42 usr  1.86 sys +  4.99 cusr
 15.06 csys = 22.33 CPU)
 Result: PASS

 Comments, okays?

 Port description:

 XML::TreePP module parses an XML document and expands it to a hash tree
 or generates an XML document from a hash tree as the opposite way
 around. This is a pure Perl implementation and requires no modules
 depended. This can also fetch and parse an XML document from remote web
 server like the XMLHttpRequest object does at JavaScript language.

Hi,

Retested Ok, had worked out use.perl.org no longer returning correct
response. I had done a port for LWP::UserAgent::WithCache those extra 6
tests also passed.

Ok, Imported into CVS.

 Hi,

 Term::ANSIColor is a core perl routine it should not be necessary to
 create and install a new package. If that was the case then a specific
 version requirement should be defined in the WWW::YouTube::Download
 distribution.

 The RUN_DEPEND on devel/p5-Term-ANSIColor should be removed, and the
 core perl version used.

 Only a quick test, but works without p5-Term-ANSIColor, if it's a red
 colour for errors.

 Nigel

 I don't know what I was smoking when I was preparing the update first
 time. Indeed Term::ANSIColor is in base and there is no need to port it.

 Cheers, I have imported dgen-sdl, but I await a second OK for removal of

after revisiting the generator page (and patched version page), not seeing
any updates for years, i see it is rather pointless to have. oust! :)
