"If you like country music that's really country, check out the Ex-Husbands,
a Brooklyn-gone-Nashville trio that sounds raised on chicken-fried steak." -
Stereo Review

"One of the best alternative country-rock bands around." - Relix

"No pretense here, just three guys playing some great kick-ass country
music." --Gavin

Hellcountry/Bourbonaires

1999-02-27 Thread Jon E. Johnson

I didn't get a chance to thank Stacey Taylor before I headed out
last night, but last night's Hellcountry gig was a hoot. I got the
impression from her that the attendance was the best they've seen so far.
Maybe the recent mentions in the Herald, the Globe, and "Country
Standard Time" have had some good effect? We were particularly pleased
with the audience reaction. Hellcountry audiences clearly know good
music when they hear it. ;-)
For those of you in the New York City area, we (the Bourbonaires)
will also be playing next Saturday night (3/6/99) at the Rodeo Bar in
Manhattan with another local rockabilly act, the Raging Teens. Come on
down if you can make it.
Thanks again, Miss Stacey. The local scene won't be the same
without you.

1999-02-25 Thread Hellcountry

Howdy friends,

I'd like to invite you all to come out early on Friday, Feb. 26th preceding
the monthly Hellcountry showcase. From 7-9 pm we'll be gathering for drinks
and I'll be wishing Boston a fond farewell. After twelve years here, I'm
relocating, eventually to Nashville but for now to the woods of rural PA.
Hellcountry will continue, and I'll be booking for now from a distance, and
making it back for the monthly showcases but damn, I'm going to miss y'all.

Hellcountry Valentines with the Gilmans

1999-02-11 Thread Hellcountry

Howdy friends,

This Sunday, Valentines Day...Hellcountry is pleased to present the Gilmans
hosting an "anti-Valentines Day show". That's right, they've scoured their
repertoire for all those songs about cheatin', your lover leavin', leavin'
your lover...you get the idea.
If you haven't seen the Gilmans before, they are well worth going down to
check out and you can't beat the free admission!

The show will get underway around 8:45 and end around 11pm, two sets with a
nice little intermission. We hope to see you there!

1999-01-31 Thread RoCogs

i just want to publically thank Stacey for helping us pop our touring cheery
so comfortably as part of her Hellcountry series at the Kendall. We had a
blast. The food was great, the people were great, the one dollar Pabst Blue
Ribbon beers were a trip back down highschool memory lane.

But seriously, it was real great time and got us off to a great start.

Thanks Stacey! Good luck with your move to Nashvilee!
