Re: Knoxville and the Shane Shack
Howdy, As is obvious by now, I am plowing through a back log of P2 posts and am now reaching this one from Jon Byrd. I will submit the name change proposal to the WDVX management and see if we can't officially change the name of the camper to the "Shane Shack." I somehow doubt the idea will catch on, though. Here's an "aw shucks" moment. Jon says: We don't have to tell y'all P2ers what a cool guy Mr. Rhyne is, but we did want to let everyone know what fun we had and just how proud we are to put East Tennessee's "littlest mobile broadcast booth" on our resume. What a great treat. Shane treated us like the royalty we ain't! I sure thank Jon for the kind words, and sincerely hope any of y'all traveling through on a Saturday night might consider stopping by, too. There's room in the camper for one and all. Well, mostly one. (See it for yourself at www.wdvx.com) I am also going to try to update the information in my listing of Knoxville-area venues and hope to have the next edition ready soon. Anybody who might be planning a tour through the region is welcome to request one. They're free and almost useful. Knoxville and the Shane Shack
Hey everybody, It's been just over a week and Greta and I are still buzzin' from our visit to the Shane Shack and WDVX's Studio C. We don't have to tell y'all P2ers what a cool guy Mr. Rhyne is, but we did want to let everyone know what fun we had and just how proud we are to put East Tennessee's "littlest mobile broadcast booth" on our resume. What a great treat. Shane treated us like the royalty we ain't! For all you touring/giging slobs like us, Kieth at the Bird's Eye View did way right by us and the room/sound/stage was professional AND very friendly. Again, thanks for all the support Shane, and all the information, inspiration, aggravation, and tarnation we get from P2. Jon Byrd and Greta Lee ps: We're at Maggie Magee's for Extravaganza Sat. the 13th at 10PM and opening for Heather "Hardcore Country" Myles Fri., Feb. 19th in ATL at the Star Bar. If any of you ever catch us, don't be like Smilin' Jim, come up and say "HEY."

You might want to recheck that gig. We were looking forward to hearing some of those shows including RWHubbard and SHAVER. Kate.

Talked to "Jim" at NEA and he says Maggie's has reopened. A big sigh of relief for/from all concerned. He said they always had a back-up plan if needed... oh great. jb [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: In a message dated 2/8/1999 1:34:21 AM Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Jon Byrd and Greta Lee ps: We're at Maggie Magee's for Extravaganza Sat. the 13th at 10PM and opening for Heather "Hardcore Country" Myles Fri., Feb. 19th in ATL at the Jon, Bad news here: Fairly sure that Maggie Magee's got closed for for tax issues last week, leaving a bunch of X'99 folks scrambling for venues.
