Re: selecting with the slash key
I was in the transport window when trying it. On 2/21/2011 2:25 AM, Kevin Reeves wrote: Hey Herman. Are you in the edit window? I have 8 here, and it works great. Can someone else try it with 9 and see if that command has been removed? I hope not, as it is one of the best commands out there. Reeves

Hi Frank Slau, Hit control delete this will delete ALL automation for that track. This works almost all the time for me! Chuck, Be more specific. Do you mean Control-Delete after the steps I described or Control-Delete anywhere in the track? Control-Delete while Volume is showing or does Waveform view work as well? Did you see this somewhere in the documentation? If so, please indicate where. RE: automation deletion
Sometimes I'm convinced that is what is required to get the Mac to do some things. LOL Kind of like doing a restore to a time machine backup point. I broke Pro Tools and had to do just that to get things back. Well, actually, Dropbox was in the mix as well. LOL J. Is looks like you can get at most older stuff through the discussion topics list. J. R. Scrubbing
Hi all, I have a Mac Book Pro with one of the new Magic Pads on it. Is there a way to use this in place of a scrub wheel? Is there a way to get a scrub wheel external? I recall many years ago with a very old version of Pro Tools you could use the mouse to scrub. I was able to use this method pretty successfully. Now with VO it would seem that it might work much better. Suggestions gratefully accepted. Thanks, J. R.
A consolidated keystrokes command list
Hi, Does anyone know of a consolidated list that has all the commands and their key strokes listed? Thanks, J. R.
Re: Scrubbing
Hi J r, I've done it with the track pad using the scrubber tool. It's a bit tricky but, if you set a few things up, it's possible. First, in the Edit window, make sure you've zoomed the window to its largest size. Then make sure the track view is set to at least large. Select the scrubber tool and navigate to the Solo or Mute button for the track. route the pointer to the control. Using the track pad, move the pointer roughly an inch or so to the right and click and hold the button. You can now scrub. It's tricky because if you exceed the right side boundary of the window, Pro Tools will continue scrubbing forward until you back off and then at a certain point it'll scrub backwards, depending on where the pointer is relative to the insertion point. It's easier to understand once you've tried it. It's not terribly useful. I mean, a scrub/shuttle wheel is far more desireable but, hey, it could work for some people in a pinch. best, Slau On Feb 21, 2011, at 11:53 AM, J. R. Re: automation deletion
Hi So I think that, possibly, the problem is that I am not scrubbing in that track. I just hear track 1. How do I change this? I can't seem to find it in the manual. Thanks --FC On Feb 21, 2011, at 12:27 PM, Slau Halatyn wrote: Chuck, I think the Control modifier will perform the action on underlying automation but that's a pretty specific function if all one want's to do is eliminate, say, pan automation and not volume automation. Just make sure volume is checked in the automation window and that audio tracks volume is showing . This control delete is a key command i think? By the way if it is a master fader track and is being very naughty in the deletion process! just delete the master fader track and re do it!
