The T-pain affect Demo link

2014-02-10 Thread Poppa Bear
Here is a link to the T-pain plugin bundle. It has a free 10 day trial and the
auto tune affect is called the T-pain plugin affect.

Re: Changing start of a song

2014-02-10 Thread Nick Gawronski
Hi, As this kind of relates to this topic I thought I would post it
here. I have my digi 003 and pro tools 11. When I use the transport
controls and am hearing the audio move around then as soon as I release
the button the audio goes right back to the start of the session. What
I would like for it to do is to always follow my transport controls or
at least know where to change this setting? I have all of the
checkboxes checked like following the the insert and following scrubb
checked but still it is not acting like it use to in pro tools 10. Do
my preferences from 10 not carry over to 11 as these preferences from 10
also were reset when I installed the latest version of 10? Nick Gawronski

1. Show all tracks.

3. Press Command-Option-3 (on the numbers row) to bring keyboard
focus to the Groups List.

4. Press Shift-1 which is the shortcut for the "all" group.
5. Move the insertion point to the beginning of the song. Most
of the time, if you've scrubbed or played back somewhere in the
session, pressing Return to get to the start and tab once should
bring you right to the beginning of the first region. Mind you,
if the song wasn't edited to begin with, there might be a
count-off bar or a few seconds of fiddling around before the
song really starts. If you wish to get rid of that, get the
insertion point to exactly where you want the playback to start.

6. Make sure you're in shuffle mode by pressing f1.
7. While holding Shift, press return to select everything to the
beginning of the session.

8. Press Delete.

Keep in mind to disable the all group by pressing Shift-1 and
that keyboard focus is on the groups table so, if there are
other groups in the session and you inadvertently type, you
might be enabling or disabling groups. A good thing to do would
be to get into Keyboard focus mode with Command-Option-1. Of
course, there, you might also inadvertently type a command that
might cause an edit function but I'm assuming you're not
randomly pressing letters while not in some dialog box. You
should be fine otherwise.

Eric,

If you have the num pad set to Transport mode, I believe it's the 9 key that
toggles between MIDI Merge on and off. Try it.

Hi Eric,

I'm not sure why you're seeing that but I'd have to guess that you're on
Mountain Lion? Buttons don't reflect correct states in Mountain Lion. clicking
on the MIDI Merge button under Mavericks works correctly as it does in snow
Leopard. Let me know if that's the case for you.

Also, Chuck, I was confused when I posted something the other day, I said Massi
plugins instead of the Masarotti waves plugs, and you asked where I got them. I
do also have the Massy plugins as well. I will try and find the link for the
download if you were intrested, it is one of those demos that you can choos to
actavate or keep as a full functioning demo, you just have to say no at the
launch of PT every time if you don't want to upgrade.

No, Izotope has a T-pain Engin that has 3 apps and one is a plug called the
T-Pain Plugin affect, it was about $65. It has the tuning, key, wet/dry and the
ability to enable or disable any key. It doesn't have any of the other auto
tune controls like bravotto, it is stripped down.

Re: Play back setting changed

2014-02-10 Thread Slau Halatyn
I usually don't have the insertion following playback but, quite often, a
client might ask to stop the transport and fully expects that the playback will
continue from that spot. In cases where I anticipate this, I press the down
arrow before stopping the transport which automatically enters the current time
into the Start field so, upon stopping the transport, the insertion only jumps
back perhaps a second or so. Otherwise, if I think we're just going to roll
once again from the original point, I simply avoid pressing the down arrow
before stopping the transport. It's sort of a guessing game, in a way, I
suppose.

Control-n toggles insertion following playback. The preference is also
visible within the Operations tab of the Preferences window.

Re: spotting

2014-02-10 Thread Slau Halatyn
Wow, look at that--I didn't know that was possible. Others may undoubtedly
chime in, saying, "Oh, yeah, I knew that" but, of course, nobody spoke up so...
there ya go! Nice discovery, Herman. I guess the thing to keep in mind is that,
if audio files are dropped into a session from the Finder, the original files
will continue to reside from whence they came so, in other words, if you want
your files to be located in the Audio Files folder, make sure you copy from
that location.

Best,

Slau

I figured out yesterday that you can drag and drop a file from the
finder and into a new track that is automatically named after the clip
you just dragged.

Thought others might benefit from this.
Find the file in the finder, drop a VO drag marker, back in the track
list table select the track you want the clip to go and drop the file
you marked to be dragged in the Finder. You now have a track named after
the clip you just dropped.

I have to do this for a bunch of files and thought that there is an easier way.
I have to put sound effects to a video that are going at specific times. Right
now here's my workflow:

1. Import the audio file I want to work with in an edit track that I created.
2. Select my clip
3. Cut the clip for moving
4. Go to and select the track I want to paste the clip in
5. Go to the time and paste

Anyway to shorten this process? Does drag from finder work for this or the
spotting feature?
