All modifiers work with surfaces for global commands. So, selecting, soloing, record enabling, etc. can all be done by holding the appropriate modifier and pressing the function button. Ah, totally different from the Avid Icon surface. The Company name is Icon and I see that the surface is called the iControl. I didn't see any mention of Pro Tools compatibility specifically but it appears to have HUI emulation so it'll probably work. I guess it depends upon whether you want great integration and functionality with Pro Tools only or whether you need to use it with other dAWs and have some integration with Pro Tools. Re: Pre eq recording
Hey martin. as if you insert an eq plug over your track, i’d have thought that’s as good as using an eq before going in to pt. your sound will not change until you modify or remove the plugin. The thing is, if you want it to stay that way, you can always bounce it to a track afterwards, or as poppa said apply it at any time later to your track. I sometimes do use eq plugins on some things like acoustic guitars while recording to reduce the bottom end, so it sounds good in my headphones. . But i do like the ability to play around afterwards, and i can always hit that by pass button and get back to the unaffected recording. it just seem to give me unlimited possibilities. at any rate, you could always go through an external mixer or eq unit and run that in to p t if you want to eq the signal before recording. Steve On 6 Mar 2015, at 4:29 am, Poppa Bear heavens4r...@gmail.com wrote: Hello Martin, I am not sure of your goal. When you bounce the track down to stereo it will record the EQ insert on the audio. The other way is to select the audio once you have it recorded and then do a destructive change by applying the EQ setting in the audio sweet. Why do you need the EQ recorded going into pro tools? If you record like that and then later find that the EQ setting was not what you wanted then you are left attempting to fix a damaged peace of audio. For the most part with the technology we have it is good to capture clean unaffected audio and then once it is in the box you can use the plugins to make the proper adjustments. Generally the only exception I know of is using a little compression going into the box in order to tame some peeks now and then. Selecting multiple non linked tracks - bug or feature
Hello! In Pro Tools 11.3.1 I'm able to select multiple tracks which are not in order or linked or what ever the correct word is. :-) It's possible by pressing voiceover+space on the desired tracks in the tracklist table. In fact that I never heard that this is possible for VoiceOver users I want to let you know. But maybe it's an old story. Re: Pre eq recording
Hi, if I was informed right, you could create several tracks to do this. Track one, raw audio, only the signal from your mike. Track 2, gate and EQ. And if you wanna go firther, track 3, compression and enhancement. If you route the output of track one, that is your raw audio, to buz 1, and the input of track 2 is buz one also, you get the right order. the result of track 2, gets input to buz 2. Track 3 output buz 2. This is what I saw on a youtube tutorial, on how to make a VoiceOver template for a broadcast commercial. if you wanna see this for yourself, search in youtube foor proTools and Voiceover. Its within the first 5 results that you will find. have fun, mac Op 5 mrt. 2015 om 14:31 heeft Martin Sopart m...@cakewalker.de het volgende geschreven: Hi Slau! RE: Pre eq recording
Hello Martin, I am not sure of your goal. Controlservice and screen question, better ask before buying ;)
Hi, question. I am near to buy the proTools software and also a controlService. My eyes lay on the controlservice of Icon, the pro, witch is expenabel up to 32 tracks or channels. I am thinking of buying this one. Are there on this list any tips for do's and dont's when it comes to controlers? I know Behringer is coming soon with one also, so I maybe will wait until I can see its features. And what about the screen for edit and mix windows in ProTools?
