Re: Pre and Postrole and Vocal Mixing

2018-09-11 Thread Slau Halatyn
Ramy,
Take a look at the parameters in the plug-in and you'll find one titled ER
Pre-Delay. The other parameters around it for early reflections work in
conjunction with pre-delay.
Good luck,
Slau

Re: Pro tools rig help

2018-09-11 Thread Steve Martin
For audio/music production, you probably won’t need any of the features in
Ultimate/HDX so I wouldn’t worry about that. They have moved enough into
regular pro tools over the years. Audio interface wise given that you are
running an old “CheeseGrator” Mac Pro from the sounds of things, that pretty
much eliminates any of the modern thunderbolt options which would of been your
best best for high resolution and low latency. The USB versions of the
Focusrite Clarett will probably be my recommendation in that regards. The
Clarett 4 Pre is the sweet spot in the line up in my opinion.

Pro tools rig help

2018-09-11 Thread Preston Davis III

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on the pro tools rig that
I am trying to put together. I already have a mac pro 5 mid 2012 with 12
cores of 3.46 ghz and 64gb of memory. I am looking for recommendations on
what control surface and audio interface to buy. Particularly with the
audio interface, I need something that I can run at the highest bit depth
and sample rate (preferably at least 96khz( and lowest buffer size with as
close to 0 latency as possible. A clean preamp would be nice as well with
out having to purchase a separate unit, but feel free to recommend one if
you have a favorite. As you can tell by my computer I am ok with shopping
in the used market if there was a solution like this.

My goal is to be able to act as a mix engineer and producer for clients
depending on there needs at as high of a level of professionalism as
possible. My problem is that I don’t have a recently deceased rich aunt, so
pro tools ultimate and an HDX set up is not a possibility for me right now.
I’d like to get close. I am new to mac, and especially to pro tools so if
there is something I’ve missed in my research feel free to point it out.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Re: Mixing my Vocal track

2018-09-11 Thread Steve Martin
Yeah thats the issue with that trick is it can phase sounding. The trick really
is to lower the vocals so that its just a hint of the left and right vocals to
fill things out more so than keeping them close in volume to the center vocal.
Sometimes if works better say if you copy the second chorus to the first
chorus, duplicate it and pan that left and right and then slightly pitch shift
that, but that relies on the second chorus being sang well enough that it
tightly lines up with the first chorus in order for that to work. Sometimes
too if they did multiple takes of a part you can use one of the other takes as
well once again providing that it lines up tightly with the main vocal.

Not aware of a demo, however the scripts in the dropbox folder has the steps to
follow when using the scripts. You can grab a demo license and try out Vocalign
Project with the scripts and following those steps and see how you get along.

Pre and Postrole and Vocal Mixing

2018-09-11 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi all:

While Watching a video, the Engineer said that , on vocal, it’s recommended to
set the Vocal reverb to Predelay, it will make the Vocal effect still playing,
but the Vocal voice stands in teh center exactly.
I opened Revibe, my favorite Reverb, but can not find this setting at all,
can anyone that is using Revibe can tell me, if it has another name or
something? and does anyone tried this?
thanks in advance
