A couple of pro tools questions
Firstly, I am not a drummer so the only way I can lay a drum track is using drum loops. What is the best way to do loops in pro tools? and, I have copied addictive drums presets and some other presets in to plug in setting and they are not showing up at all in pro tools. I’d be grateful for any help please. Thank you, Trevor -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Pro Tools Accessibility group. Re: routting 11rack ports, test drive
Thanks for this Rui, I'm thinking of getting one so I'd be very interested to know how you get on with it. Cheers, Trevor -Original Message- From: Rui Vilarinho Sent: Friday, January 23, 2015 5:21 PM To: ptaccess@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: routting 11rack ports, test drive Got it. Hi guys, thought my test drive with 11rack within Sonar on windows world could be apreciated by guitarist or bass players, well, anyone interested. In my judge it's a fantastic guitar and bass sound and fx processor. Yet, it's a great USB audio interface. The ASIO drivers are amazing. Zero, I mean really zero latency. Exist a basic 11rack control pannel, where it's easy to adjust buffer, hertz, bits and clock. The hardware; it's a 2unit great AVID design, but concerning accessibility? well, it's suppose to be use also as a stand alone guitar processor, therefore it's like a amplifyer. knobs all around, straight forward, scroll wheel to swap presets and a bunch of knobs where parameters cam be adjust. some button pads that enable or disable several fx, like delay reverb mod, distortion and so on. Yet, a button pad tap tempo . No ! it doesnt talk, so the display cant be read by a blind musician, preset name and preset editting must be investigated if could be possible by movements, like, one left, two down and edit button , press save and so on. Very soon I'll gonna test it out within Pro Tools, where I believe that those unaccessible information and editting can be done. Anyhow, concerning Sonar DAW; you gonna like this: 11rack gives 3 ports; 1st . Guitar ; records the dry guitar. 2nd . Eleven Rig ; records the sound of the amp, cab, mic and any effects . 3rd . ReAmp ; will aloud to direct the dry guitar to the 11rack and record once again, with any other preset or modification . Resuming; You can create one mono audio track. Select Guitar In as its input. Also, you can create a stereo audio track. Select Eleven Rig L/R as the input. Record enable both tracks and record your part. This will record your stereo rig and a clean signal that you can reamp, or easily edit later. Great stuff. Now Pro Tools comes with 11rack. Re: Christmas tune
Firstly Chris, I have only heard Oh come all ye faithful and I think the main problem with this track is that, you are not a rock singer. I have heard you do other things a lot better. You don't sound at all as if you are enjoying it, it sounds like your trying too hard. Stick to the country music and stay in your comfort zone. I won't list near all of them here, but for one, I dragged the tempo, my chords were way way off in a few places, my base guitar pattern line sucked, my mandolin track was way way too loud, my vocals were way over compressed, I was extremely flat in places, I strained quite a bit on a lot of the higher notes, my backing harmoney was way off, not to mention not in sync, I cut wayyy too much low ends out of my lead vocal while e queueing most likely, etc. I'll send you two of them. If you write back and say, eek, yikes! then yeah, I know, dont' say it, I already know it's not! good! But, alas, as you said, Christmas is about sharing, so I'll definitely do it. Hi trevor, Here are a couple of golden rules regarding Pro Tools: 1. Never update to the latest Software Update before checking to see if there's any news on incompatibilities with Pro Tools. Upgrading will be a risk otherwise. Yes, that's inconvenient for daily use computers but Pro Tools is most often run on a dedicated production machine so software updates can wait. 2. Always save your disk images so you can restore previous versions if necessary or reinstall. In this case, I'm not sure that installing a previous version of PT will help. Generally, you want to be on the latest version, especially in the interest of having the best chance of being compatible with the latest system version. 3. Not specific to Pro Tools, always have a backup drive. You'll have your files on the backup and can either restore or simply copy and paste applications as needed HTH, Slau On Oct 1, 2014, at 9:02 AM, trevor trevor.sco...@btopenworld.com wrote: I updated my Mavericks today to 10.9.5 and my pro tools isn’t working as it was before.
