[QGIS-Developer] plugins: pip dependecies

2024-01-26 Thread Martin Landa via QGIS-Developer
Hi,

I would like to ask regarding QGIS plugin publishing which has pip
dependency.

In metadata.txt I added:

plugin_dependencies=smoderp2d

When trying to install a plugin from ZIP created by pb_tool unfortunately
smoderp2d dependency is not installed. The Plugin Dependencies Manager is
shown, the dialog just hangs with Action -> Fix manually. No error message
is displayed.

[image: image.png]

How can I fix this issue? Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Martin

PS: I tried to install smodep2d manually by pip and it worked fine.

[QGIS-Developer] wps client plugin

2019-11-14 Thread Martin Landa
Dear all,

to my knowledge there is currently no WPS client plugin for QGIS3. I
just found [1] which is written for QGIS2, no updates seem to be
published.

I am thinking to start implementing a new WPS client for QGIS3 from
scratch. To avoid duplication, are you aware of any initiative?

Thanks, Martin

I perfectly understand this point since I am doing volunteering work

questions/suggestions:

* does need to be every new version really approved?
* the procedure could be probably somehow (semi)-automated in order to
decrease volunteering work and speed up approval?

[QGIS-Developer] qwt replacement

2019-05-23 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

a new version of Safecast plugin (which is going to be released soon I
hope) is using QWT library to render simple graphs. After upgrading to
QGIS3 we are facing to various problems:

* On Ubuntu the packages is available since 18.10 (no LTS) [1]
* No relevant package in OSGeo4W (pyqwt depends on qt4)

I am thinking to add a new package based on PythonQwt [2] to OSGeo4W,
but I wonder if it make sense. Also note that PythonQwt is different
beast from python3-pyqt5.qwt package (which is Qwt6-based).

Any opinions? Thanks for tips in advance! Martin

[QGIS-Developer] random order after open attribute table

2019-03-02 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

I found problem with strange row ordering after opening attribute
table in QGIS3. Rows are not ordered correctly (how related features
were written to a layer). In example [1] rows should be ordered
staring with 0. I am getting correct order after pressing 'Reload the
table' [2]. Unfortunately adding code below after loading data in a
plugin

layer.dataProvider().forceReload()

has no effect, rows are still not ordered correctly. I didn't have
such problem with QGIS2, it's seems to be new behaviour. Any idea?

Related question: is it possible to defined for vector layer using
Python API specific field used for default row ordering when opening
attribute table?

Thanks, Martin

[QGIS-Developer] changeAttributeValue() slower after editing

2018-06-09 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

I am running method to update attributes. Here is a simplified version:

"""
def recalculateAttributes(self):
self._layer.setReadOnly(False)
self._layer.startEditing()

features = self._layer.getFeatures()
for feat in features:
self._layer.changeAttributeValue(feat.id(), 2, 1)

self._layer.commitChanges()
self._layer.setReadOnly(True)
"""

I am running this function after loading (seems OK) and after editing:

"""
layer.setReadOnly(False)
iface.actionToggleEditing().trigger()
iface.actionDeleteSelected().trigger()
iface.actionSaveActiveLayerEdits().trigger()
iface.actionToggleEditing().trigger()
layer.setReadOnly(True)
"""

In this case recalculateAttributes() runs at least 3-4x slower. On my
PC of my colleague even 10x slower.

Layer is stored in SQLite format. Using QGIS 2.18.20. Any idea what
could be wrong? Thanks! Martin

[QGIS-Developer] QGIS in UbuntuGIS (join forces)

2018-03-05 Thread Martin Landa
Hi QGIS devs,

some time ago I took care about maintaining GRASS packages in
UbuntuGIS project (unstable and experimental PPAs - currently I am
working on new QGIS 2.18 packages, see ubuntugis-experimental). It
also includes related gdal-grass and qgis packages [1]. QGIS packages
are maintained transparently in git repo [2] (ubuntu/trusty + xenial)
branches. It would be nice to join forces. QGIS now offers its own PPA
with ubuntugis dependency [3]. I see two options:

* promote UbuntuGIS Unstable (which contains fresh versions)
* copy packages from UbuntuGIS unstable to your PPA (or in opposite direction).

The most important would be to maintain packages in same git repo [2].

What do you think? Best, Martin

[QGIS-Developer] QgsField, precision, export

2017-12-15 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

I am having problem with attributes which have defined precision, eg.

QgsField("ader_microsvh", QVariant.Double, prec=4),

The values are displayed correctly when loading layer to the memory
(see left part of screenshot), but after exporting such layer to SHP,
the values are lost (zero value with given precision), see right part
of screenshot. Tested with QGIS 2.14 and 2.18. Do you have any idea
how to fix this issue without dropping precision? Thanks, Martin

[QGIS-Developer] pyqgis: adding features to SQLite layer

2017-11-10 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

I found difference when adding features (addFeature) to SQLite layer
in QGIS 2.14 and 2.18.

In QGIS 2.14 ogc_fid (primary key) column in not shown in attribute
table. Feature ID does not need to be set, by adding feature the
ogc_fid sequence is automatically incremented. Everything works, first
feature has ogc_fid set to 0, second to 1, etc.

In QGIS 2.18 ogc_fid column in show in attribute table. Adding feature
is failing on same ogc_fid value, in other words, the ogc_fid value is
not autoincremented. Even feature.setFeatureId() do not help. I solved
it by adding ogc_fid value to the list of values passed to
feature.setAttributes(). Then features are finally added to the layer.

Is it really needed in QGIS 2.18 to add ogc_fid value to attributes? I
would assume that this value is set by feature id or autoincremented.
And I also wonder why setFeatureId() does not work.

Thanks for clarification. Martin

I changed my code to use layer.startEditing + addFeature +

The features are displayed in map cancas, identify working, but
attribute table is empty. The only difference is between QGIS 2.14

what could be wrong?

[QGIS-Developer] pyqgis: new sqlite layer - no records in attribute table

2017-11-06 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

a new SQLite layer created using Python libraries:

layer = QgsVectorLayer("test.sqlite", "test", "ogr") # empty layer
created by GDAL
layer.dataProvider().addAttributes([...])
layer.updateFields()

feats = []
for ...:
   feat=QgsFeature()
   ...
   feats.append(feat)

layer.AddFeatures(feats)

The new layer is loaded (in pyqgis code), features can be identified,
but attribute table is empty (0 filtered features), see attached
screenshot [1]. When I load created SQLite layer via GUI, attribute
table is filled.

Any idea what is missing/wrong in code? Thanks, Ma

[Qgis-developer] processing modeler: join attributes table

2017-04-27 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

we are trying to join attribute table with another table in processing
modeler (using "Join attributes table" algorithm), but it fails:

"""

"""

The parameters should be fine - the both tables (attribute table and
CSV table contain column 'HPJ'). It's possible to join CSV table file
with attribute table manually in QGIS without any problems. It seems
to be a bug in processing modeler, can you confirm it?

itself) to render legend items as multiline text? I tried '\n' but it
didn't worked (see attached screenshot). My goal is to make rendered
image less wide and cannot shorten legend descriptions. Thanks for any
tips in advance, Martin

XFCE. I compiled the same version of QGIS (2.14.3) on my laptop

I am getting transformation object from map canvas (when loading
vector data - QGIS doesn't recognize from PRJ file EPSG:5514 and set
up map canvas crs to a new user-defined crs):

"""
crs = self.iface.mapCanvas().mapSettings().destinationCrs()
QgsCoordinateReferenceSystem(str(crs.authid())) // -> USER:10

will return crsSrc.isValid() False value. Thanks, Martin

[Qgis-developer] destinationSrsChanged, custom srs

2016-11-29 Thread Martin Landa
Hi all,

when working with students on new QGIS plugin some questions raised.

First we use destinationSrsChanged signal from QgsMapRender (which is
DEPRECATED). We couldn't find similar signal in QgsMapSettings class.

In the code we also transform coordinates using QgsCoordinateTransform
class. It works except of user defined srs, eg. USER:10. In this
case isValid() return False and transformation do not work.

Any ideas? Thanks, Martin

[Qgis-developer] open vector data using specific GDAL driver

2016-10-29 Thread Martin Landa
Hi all,

I wonder whether it's possible to specify GDAL driver when creating
QgsVectorLayer instance. The constructor allows passing uri, layer
name and provider. Is there any way how to specify GDAL driver which
will be used for opening datasource (let's say that we are working
with datasource which can be open by two different GDAL drivers).

composedURI = str(dbPath) + "|layername=" + dbTable
layer = QgsVectorLayer(composedURI, layerName, 'ogr')

Something like:

sqliteDriver = ogr.GetDriverByName('SQLite')
sqliteDataSource = sqliteDriver.Open(str(dbPath))

Thanks, Martin

thanks. But this option is something what I would like to avoid (no
new files created, regardless format - SQLite Db or mldata). Ideally
to provide to QGIS information how to load data (python code for
running plugin reader) and from which file.

[Qgis-developer] memory-based layers and projects

2016-10-10 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

I have plugin which creates memory based layer and loads data into
this layer using its own reader.

"""
class MyLayer(QgsVectorLayer):
def __init__(self, name):
super(MyLayer, self).__init__('Point?crs=epsg:4326',
name,
'memory')

def load(self, reader):
for f in reader:
self._process_row(f) # add features to the map layer
"""

The problem occures when user stores such layer in the project. Then
the project file contains only:

"""

memory?geometry=Pointcrs=EPSG:4326field=ader_microSvh:(0,0)...
"""

So after loading the project, empty layer appears (with defined
attributes), but with no points loaded. Is there any way how to define
for such layer python code which would perform loading points using
plugin reader when opening a project?

Of course plugin could store (export) loaded data eg. into SQLite DB,
but this is not the way I would like to go.

Thanks in advance for any pointers, Martin

+environment.insert( "GRASS_VECTOR_TMPDIR_MAPSET", "0" );

yes, I was thinking about that. I will create local repo for my

I agree, at least QGIS should create not more than one icon on the

beside SAGA and GRASS the QGIS alone will create 4(!) different icons.
So 4 (QGIS) + 1 (SAGA) + 1 (GRASS).

[Qgis-developer] QGIS on Windows: order another desktop to accommodate all the icons

2016-03-10 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

recently I installed QGIS on Windows to test GRASS 7 support. To my
surprise QGIS put 5(!) icons to my deskop. I don't know any program
which installs so many icons to the desktop. Even program such ArcGIS
puts only one icon ;-) I wouldn't be surprised that some newcomers can
be confused when trying to understand which icon to use the first time
;-)

BTW, uninstall procedure do not remove these icons from desktop.

Hi,

2015-08-18 9:11 GMT+02:00 Radim Blazek radim.bla...@gmail.com:
 BTW, as Markus Neteler pointed out, there is a list differences
 between GRASS 6 and 7:

 https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/Grass7/NewFeatures#Replacedandremovedmodules
   https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/Grass7/NewFeatures#Renamedmodules
   https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/Grass7/NewFeatures#Optionschanges
 and a table used by the commands to advertise new parameters in case
 the user used the old style:

 https://svn.osgeo.org/grass/grass/branches/releasebranch_7_0/lib/gis/renamed_options

 If you upgrade a module definition in QGIS, please update also its status on
 https://grasswiki.osgeo.org/wiki/GRASS-QGIS_relevant_module_list

I wonder why UI is not generated on the fly or during compilation? To
maintain manually UI in QGIS is complicated and the result will be
always out-of-date. Just 2 my cents, Martin

Re: [Qgis-developer] QGIS 2.6 compilation on Windows

2014-11-24 Thread Martin Landa
Dear Larry,

2014-11-19 23:09 GMT+01:00 Larry Shaffer lar...@dakotacarto.com:
 I think I ran into this recently. There was a commit in 2.6 [0] that
 apparently requires a newer version of flex or bison (bison 3.x, I think?)

for record osgeo4w environment reports:

 flex --version
flex version 2.5.4

 bison --version
bison (GNU Bison) 2.4.1

 than is available with the GnuWin32 project as noted in INSTALL [1]. Instead
 I used the precompiled binaries available from the 'Win flex-bison' project
 [2] and specified the CMake paths:

 -D BISON_EXECUTABLE=C:/path/to/win_flex_bison-latest/win_bison \
 -D FLEX_EXECUTABLE=C:/path/to/win_flex_bison-latest/win_flex

OK, I downloaded executables from [2] and placed to my osgeo4w
environment, then modified `package.cmd`

-D BISON_EXECUTABLE=%O4W_ROOT%/bin/win_bison ^
-D FLEX_EXECUTABLE=%O4W_ROOT%/bin/win_flex

 win_flex --version
win_flex 2.5.37

 win_bison --version
bison (GNU Bison) 2.7

 Looks like the CMake find modules need updated to look for those binaries. I
 suppose you could also build the latest packages yourself.

But I am still getting the same error. Rather that updating CMake file
it would make sense to include required version of flex and bison into
OSgeo4W environment I would say. Any idea how to solve this problem?

No problem with QGIS 2.4 or 2.2. Any idea what could be wrong?

Thanks, Martin

Re: [Qgis-developer] save as symbology

2014-08-04 Thread Martin Landa
Hi,

2014-08-02 21:50 GMT+02:00 Alex Mandel tech_...@wildintellect.com:

 I think it works for spatialite and expect it will work for geopackage
 when that becomes available.

IFAW, the current ability to export styles to OGR is limited in QGIS
only to pen's colors and width [1], right?

Martin
