[Qgis-user] Issue with 3.4.9 LT Release and Help documentation
In the 3.4 LTR release, there is a setting for accessing the help documentation via the Help menu. In my case, it is failing to access the web based help and instead sending me to a file on disk. Log results after clicking on Help in GUI: 2019-08-15T10:04:37 INFOTrying to open help using key 'index.html'. Full URI is 'https://docs.qgis.org/3.4/en/docs/user_manual/index.html'… Page that gets opened in the default web browser: C:\Packages\OSGeo\QGIS 3.4\apps\qgis-ltr\doc\nohelp.html Help document locations referenced in Settings > Options > General: https://docs.qgis.org/$qgis_short_version/$qgis_locale/docs/user_manual/ https://docs.qgis.org/3.4/en/docs/user_manual/ I know the desktop machine has internet access as I can access other websites, including the online help if I manually paste the help link into a browser. Any tips?
[Qgis-user] QGIS menu Copyright Label Decoration
Dear all, in QGIS 2.x under Windows it is possible to add a html code in the menu View/Decorations/Copyright Label Decoration like: It allows to add an image as logo in the map canvas, which I find quite useful. I failed so far to find a solution to do something similar in Ubuntu and in QGIS 3.x Has anybody an idea how to do it? Thank you in advance. ciao Dieter ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org List info: https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user Unsubscribe: https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
Re: [QGIS-it-user] Legenda layer
Sure, I will try to force the crash again as soon as I have time. Or are those saved somewhere on my disk and I could retrieve it from there? I updated to 3.8.1 in the meantime. Let's see if it reproduces there. Re: [Qgis-user] Vertex Tool instabilities
Hi Andreas, Can you open an issue report for this with the contents from the crash dialog in there? Thanks a lot Matthias On 8/15/19 9:07 AM, Andreas Wicht wrote: Hi there, lately I observed the following: I was using the Vertex Tool quite a lot lately as I had to adjust polygon boundaries in a larger layer (PostGIS table ~60.000 polygons). As QGIS enables snapping for each layer loaded (when setting enable snapping by default in the settings, I guess) I forgot to turn it off for some point layers (millions of features - address point layer) I added later as a background reference. Those layers were using CRS 4326 and therefore re-projecting on-the-fly. As soon as those were in the mix QGIS started to crash very frequently (>10x per hour) when using the Vertex Tool. After some time and frustration I noticed the snapping options and disabled snapping for those point layers and the crashes stopped immediately (no crashes for days). The crashes appeared ONLY when using the Vertex Tool for me. Splitting or reshaping features worked just as expected. I know this is a very vague and not very technical description of a problem which can be very frustrating to users who do not see the connection between the snapping options, re-projecting on-the-fly and those crashes. I do not know if it is a Vertex Tool or re-projecting issue... or a combination of both as other tools work fine.
