[Qgis-user] HTML tags in label expresion on QGIS 2.0.1
Hello list, I tried to use HTML bold tag b/b for a part of label text in label expression. HTML tags are properly interpreted and rendered on Expression based label dialog at Output preview, but unfortunately not the same on the map. You can see in the image below - red and green areas. http://img42.com/Hd4Zp Maybe there is some kind of setting to enable this on map render? (I couldn't find) Or this is a bug? As I remember this used to work in 1.x versions. Sincerely, Paul ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
Re: [Qgis-user] HTML tags in label expresion on QGIS 2.0.1
Hey, HTML based labels aren't supported yet. What you see in the dialog is a render preview using a QLabel which can handle HTML. I need to change that to just use plain text rather then rich text. It was never supported in any older versions. - Nathan On Tue, Oct 22, 2013 at 4:22 PM, Paulius Litvinas paul...@infoera.ltwrote: Hello list, ** ** I tried to use HTML bold tag b/b for a part of label text in label expression. ** ** HTML tags are properly interpreted and rendered on „Expression based label“ dialog at Output preview, but unfortunately not the same on the map. Re: [Qgis-user] [Qgis-developer] Opening view or table using DBManager locks it in postgis
Yes, I believe it is. At least the fact that only closing QGIS releases the locks. You can even create several locks on the same table if you keep removing and adding the same table. But, is it expected that a QGIS client can lock a postgis view in such way that I can not even run a trigger on a related table? When I tried, QGIS just hangs until I close the process in Postgresql. The opposite happens when I try to delete a View via Pgadmin that is opened in QGIS, pgadmin hangs until I close QGIS. Re: [Qgis-user] Problem with WMS 1.1.1 data providers in QGIS 2.0.1
Looking at the specs briefly, it doesn't seem like the ability to set DPI explicitly is specified in WMS 1.1.0 or 1.3.0. I guess that MapServer can't handle stuff it's not expecting. Re: [Qgis-user] db-manager (temporary tables)
For me the advantage is simple: I have a few plpgsql functions which create tables with variables computed from some quite large tables. I then use these tables as input to create other result tables (with geometry). And yes, the advantage is not to deal with multiple deleting in the end of each session. As you say, perhaps the best is to contact Giuseppe Sucameli to see whether this could be improved (if of course is an useful feature for other users). Hi all, I think the dpi parameter is a useful extension and should be added by the QGIS client (given that the dpi are really correctly detected). If a WMS server chokes on additional paramters it is not very well designed. They can just ignore these extra parameters if they do not know how to deal with it. Just my opinion. I agree. Often is not known the kind of wms server so I apply always the map_resolution and the dpi parameters. 2013/10/22 Andreas Neumann a.neum...@carto.net Hi all, I think the dpi parameter is a useful extension and should be added by the QGIS client (given that the dpi are really correctly detected). You cannot let QGIS remove those params I think. Hi, That certain server is a pretty old Mapserver v. 5.0 and it does not like the non-standard vendor parameter MAP_RESOLUTION=96. Fresh Mapservers do not fail because of that and actually since version 6.0 Mapserver supports vendor option MAP_RESOLUTION. According to WMS standard servers should quietly skip extra parameters so principally there is a bug in Mapserver 5.0. However, I do not like that QGIS is adding always its own vendor parameters and users do not have a way to turn off the non-standard parameters. I have two reasoning for this: 1) MAP_RESOLUTION is not defined in the standard and for server A it can mean something different than for server B while QGIS may be awaiting still something else. 2) Even vendor options should be skipped, we have here an example that some servers may fail in skipping them. Nobody will fix Mapserver 5.0 and even it is wrong, it is the QGIS user who suffers now. User can only ask server admin to update (it may take a while) or switch off QGIS and use another WMS client like OpenJUMP. For my mind it should be possible to configure QGIS WMS to run in a safe mode and use only those parameters which belong to WMS standard. -Jukka Rahkonen- ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Ignore the fact it looks suspiciously like Excel, but imagine a QGIS dialog that let you put pieces together like this: [image: Inline images 2] Where % are predefined QGIS variables. Use a + and - button to add/remove rows (and thus parameters) to the table. Could work for WFS and WCS too. Create various different profiles and distribute those as standard. Re: [Qgis-user] Qgis-user Digest, Vol 92, Issue 51 Topic 1
Alexandro, When inputting a csv file, you need to create within the same folder a csvt file, which sets the data type for each field and the number of characters. Once you have created this file, then reqad in the csv and the data should come in the correct format. You can have integer, real or text data types. Hope that helps. Re: [Qgis-user] Convert Arc projects (MXD) in QGIS
I have been able to dig into this a bit more (i.e. mxd to qgis). Just want to report another handy tool that I recently found: ArcMap2SLD http://arcmap2sld.geoinform.fh-mainz.de/ArcMap2SLDConverter_Eng.htm . I have just started to use the tool and it works pretty well to create SLD files for polygons and lines (I am using ArcMap 9.3, but imagine it works similarly for 10.x, just be sure to use the correct version). For point symbols I have found that if your project uses unique ESRI symbols (ESRI fonts/styles), those don't convert into SLD. A couple of notes based on my experience: -I did not find the setup.exe as found in the install notes (I was using version 1.2.2.1, I see that 1.3 has a setup.exe file). I followed this blog post http://www.web-maps.com/gisblog/?p=75 . I had an open session of ArcMap running with the layers that I wanted converted. I then ran ..\ArcMap2SLD\bin\ArcGIS_SLD_Converter.exe file. -Under Extras, I selected LayersIn separate files. This creates a unique SLD file for each layer in the mxd file) with the resulting file name: file name+layer name (layer name from ArcMap) -In QGIS add the vectors as normal. For each layer I then loaded the Style (SLD)...Go into PropertiesLoad Style... -The ArcMap Labeling properties did not convert to SLD (TextSymbolizer is supposed to be supported) I hope this helps anyone who is converting their mxd files to QGIS. Re: [Qgis-user] Can't Add Oracle Spatial Vector Layer with QGIS 2.0 on Mac OSx
Now I remember another reason(s) why I stopped supporting Oracle (in GDAL)... Attitude - registration I can deal with, but requiring full business contact info is too much. They STILL don't know how to name OS X libraries. As is, cmake will not find them. Neither will standard configure scripts (ie GDAL). This means renaming the libraries (and fixing the internal linking) and organizing the libraries and headers to build for them. But while end-users could do the same library renaming without much fuss, the internal link fixing requires a tool from Xcode, which defeats the point of installing prebuilt binaries. I don't really want to deal with this. :( On Oct 22, 2013, at 9:25 AM, chris marx wrote: Ok, Thanks for the heads up.
