[Qgis-user] Measuring tool problem(v0.8) under Windows
Hi all, we are developing with 0.8release's API and we have that same problem with the measuring tool : http://lists.qgis.org/pipermail/qgis-user/2007-January/001099.html. We are under windowsXP and we are encountering that problem with the distribution version too. It should be fixed in the v.0.8.1 according to this message : http://lists.qgis.org/pipermail/qgis-user/2007-January/001105.html. We just wanna know if this version will be distribute soon. If not, this message suggests that a fixed windows version of concerned librairie (proj) exists : http://lists.qgis.org/pipermail/qgis-user/2007-January/001117.html. Is that right? Is it possible to obtain the correct .dll ? Regards. ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.qgis.org http://lists.qgis.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

I will try to backport any fixes he has made into the upcoming 0.8.1 bugfix release if Magnus has not already done so. Hopefully Magnus' work will address the issues you mentioned. I've tested on Win2K - finally! - and can't see any difference between windows and Linux. I would need more info to find the problem, such as if projection is turned on or off, and the projections of the layer. If you have the files, that would be good too. You could add them to one of the bug reports. Do you have the same version of proj4 library on both machines? I'm going to say worksforme on the bugs, but I'm happy to re-open if any more info is supplied. Tim, backporting to 0.8 is not that easy, as the way projections are handled has changed. Howewver, when I open the project in the statically compiled linux_bundle (http://blog.qgis.org/?q=node/46) it works fine. There must be some problem in my compiled version. Do you have an idea, what I've done wrong? I am in our local transverse meracator projection (Israel ITM, SRID 2039). THe project is set to that projection and the layers are recognized in the correct projection. But clicking on either measure button, the warning message comes up regarding ... geographic coordinate system... and the resulting numbers are way off. Thanks for the outstanding work. Micha I'll revise my story: I did my linux install yesterday evening (compiled on FC6 with grass, postgis, gdal etc.) and the measuring tool worked as expected. So I guess this might be a problem with the Windows binary. Regards, Micha ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.qgis.org http://lists.qgis.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
