The CPY filter used in the example I gave previously doesnt do echo, but it shouldnt be too difficult to write a small filter in assembler or compiled S*Basic to do exactly what you requested. A customer in Spain asked if it were possible It isn't. One cannot program ROMs - only EPROMS, which have a different pinout. I have never come across OTP (one time programmable) parts with a ROM pinout. They do exist interestingly in 128k 32pin form for the Z88 ROM. You either need a rom set, which will work on a standard QL, or Eproms. One can program eproms, and either piggy back or plug into the two slots - altering the J1-6 jumpers (single black bar zero resistance 'resistors' next to the 2nd rom), or use a Minerva-like pcb and a 64k Eprom. Only 48k of the Eprom is addressed by the QL. -- Rich Mellor RWAP Services 35 Chantry Croft, Kinsley, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, WF9 5JH TEL: 01977 610509 Visit our website at URL:http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk Stuck with ordinary dial up internet connection ?? On my new XP driven PC > QLay does not function anymore though :-( Jimmy Montesinos ran into possible copyright issues with QL2K, so he suspended the project. He then moved on to release QLay2, an improved version of the original QLay. Designed to work on Windows 2000 and XP. I did briefly have it running on my old Win98SE PC, but have not installed it on this new PC. QLay 2 was available on his website, though I haven't accessed the site or been in contact with Jimmy for a while now. I have copies here which I could probably email to you once I've checked the copyright status (I think it's freely distributable but need to check). One of the zip files is about 180KB long, the other about 1.5MB (the latter probably including sources etc, too long to offer to send by dial-up email) -- Dilwyn Jones ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.quanta.org.uk/mailing.htm Our name has changed.
