Help wanted
Hi there, Let me introdce myself first. My name is Schajee and I'm a web developer. My company requires me to setup a complete Hotmail styled email service for use by its employees. I've been searching a solution to this problem and I found a lot of them but none matched my requirement, so I was forced to look for other solutions. I found qmail by accident and I kinda liked it. I've been using it for a some days now and I think it meets my requirments. So the question is how do you setup a mail service like Hotmail. I'm ready to develop a web based MUA which works with qmail and hopefull this should do the trick. So, anybody out there who has either worked on it before or has some experiance in working for such a thing... please let know so that we can sit down and talk about this. Schagee, I've only just started playing with it, but squirrelmail has an awesome look and feel and seems to be extremly fast against courier-imapd. It runs under PHP4, is open-source, and ready to rock-and-roll. It took me all of about 2 minutes to install, configure, and run my first test. It loaded up my IMAP account (with over 80 folders and 30k messages) in less than 5 seconds. It's even faster on a more normal account. Schajee, I use a combination of qmail, vmailmgr, omail-admin, courier-imap and squirrelmail to do just what you need. Help wanted on vchkpw vs checkpassword...
Hello ! I'm realy new with qmail - but what I know it's damn fast.. Could You help me with resolve problem? I'm using: RedHat 6.0 box qmail 1.03 under tcp supervised server trying vpopmail-3.4.11.relased.tar.gz from www.inter7.com site. qmail was great working with /etc/rc.d/init.d/qmail-pop3d.init script where invocation of qmail-popup was: cut qmail-popup $HOST $CHKPASS $COMMAND Maildir cut where: HOST=host.domain CHKPASS="/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw" COMMAND=qmail-pop3d When I want check my mail via Outlook or Mozilla, the -aack error apear. All works fine with checkpassword real /etc/passwd users. What I forgot? Maybe something during compilation of vpopmail? I know in /home/vpopmail/domains/caspol.com.pl there are 3 files: .vpasswd.lock, vpasswd vpasswd.cdb Maybe is somethin corrupted? My configuration before make install-strip was: ./configure --enable-tcpserver-file=/etc/tcprules.d/qmail-smtpd.cdb --enable-default-domain=caspol.com.pl --enable-ip-alias-domains=y --enable-hardquota=20m PLEASE help me...
