Qmail and EZMLm

2001-06-21 Thread Giuliano Vilardo

Hi.

I have a little problem with my mailing lists.

I use ezmlm to manage this mailing list , and Qmail to
delivery the messages.

This is what happens when I send the message that I want to
mail.

The ezmlm reply this message to the MOD ( myself ), this
message is a confirmation, that my e-mail is ready to be launch to
list.

When I accept this message, the must start the delivery
procedure, but this is not happenning since yesterday.

Yesterday was working just fine, but now is not
working.

Can somebody help me please.

Thanks a lot

failure notice (qmail and ezmlm)

2001-01-26 Thread Ben

Hello all,

I am having difficulty in getting my mailing lists to work. I believe that
the lists addressed are not even being evaluated by ezmlm, but are being
reject by qmail due to a configuration mistake on my part.

The msg at the end of this email is a forward of the failure notice from
qmail.

Also, I am including my configs and other info below:

"aquinas.pp.asu.edu" is the host's real name, and "hdshc.asu.edu" is an alias
for this host.

All mailing lists are in the form "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" (virtual
domain) -- but seems to get reformatted to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]",
which is annoying but workable; This system used to work until I screwed
something up in the config files :(

I would greatly appreciate any help on this. I have been fighting this for a
day now and need to get the lists back up.

BEGIN FILES:

END FILES

I know the problem is probably simple, but I can't see it. It has deffinately
prompted me to want to learn more about email systems and qmail more
specifically.

Again, any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

This is because of
hdshc.asu.edu. IN CNAME aquinas.pp.asu.edu.
hdshc.asu.edu will be rewritten to aquinas.pp.asu.edu by mailservers
as a CNAME says kinda "this host does not exist and is really called
aquinas.pp.asu.edu".

 control/locals--
 localhost.asu.edu
 aquinas.pp.asu.edu
 control/virtualdomains---
 aquinas.pp.asu.edu:hdshc.asu.edu

A host may not be in locals and virtualdomains at the same time
(i.e. it may, but locals takes precedence to virtualdomains).

Another problem might be that if the ezmlm mailinglist is configured
to be [EMAIL PROTECTED] it will not accept beeing called
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

The easiest way to fix your problem is probably to change
hdshc.asu.edu. IN CNAME aquinas.pp.asu.edu.
to
hdshc.asu.edu. IN A 129.219.125.101

Remove the CNAME record and make it an A or an MX record. That's what's causing
the rewriting of the host name.

You have aquinas.pp.asu.edu in both locals and virtualdomains. Having a domain
in both files is always a mistake. To fix your problem, get rid of the CNAME,
and add hdshc.asu.edu to virtualdomains and remove it from locals.

Help with qmail and ezmlm

2000-11-15 Thread Pedro Pires

Hello

I'm using ezmlm.

I have a list of people in a list.

I use ezmlm-send to send the message in the following way

# ezmlm-send ~/list "mail.file"

I've checked the queue and the emails of the users that the message is
suposed to go are ok.

But after the email is sent by qmail the email that apears in the "To:"
label isn't correct.

It apears like this "pedro.pires?[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and it should apear
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

Anyone have experienced this?

Thanks
Pedro Pires

2000-05-08 Thread Kapil Nanda

Hi Ken

I had three lines in the assign file, and a single period for the last line.
I had added single period's after each line. But the problem still remains.

Kapil

You probably don't have a ending line with a single period
 .

That is why qmail-newu is failing to compile. and without a
compiled assign file, qmail won't be able to find the virtual
domain directory to deliver it to.

Cool Stuff Ken... Thanks...
No No don't go away, now my one problem is solved i.e users/assign, by
doing what you said.
I am able to send+recieve the mails using sqwebmail. But when I use outlook
express or Netscape messenger it gives me error

dont' put periods at the end of each line.

If you want to try starting over, run ~vpopmail/bin/vdeldomain domain
for each of the current domains. Then remove the assign file, and
start again by adding the domains with ~vpopmail/bin/vadddomain domain
 pass

help qmail+vpopmail+ezmlm+qmailadmin+sqwebmail

2000-05-06 Thread Kapil Nanda

The scenariois :
I have installed qmail1.03 on Mandrake Linux 6.0.
And the local domain is "velosmed.com" and the local accounts by creating actual
users on that system works. I am able to send and receive
emails
Then I installed vpopmail from www.inter7.com; then ezmlm ; and qmailadmin
from www.inter7.com and finally installed
sqwebmail on that system.

Now the problem is that,
when I create an virtual domain on that system by
using vpopmail :
/home/vpopmail/bin/vadddomainintranet.velosmed.com
password
it gives me "qmail-newu" error : fatal bad format
in users/assign
and I when I try to access that account using the
outlook express, it gives me authentication error, says bad password when the
password is correct.
however I am able to create the accounts using the
qmailadmin, and access that accounts using sqwebmail but the mail is not coming.

If someone sends the mail to that virtually created
accounts, the error comes that there is no mailbox by that name.

Segmentation Fault in Qmail-send (Ezmlm+idx 0.40 on Solaris 7)

2000-03-21 Thread Brian Ghidinelli

I just tried upgrading to the latest and greatest. A couple of problems:

a) Can't use getdate() as a function name in ezmlm-cgi.c, it conflicts
with a Solaris /usr/include/time.h function - I had to hack that out by
hand.

I already sent this to Fred and he fixed up ezmlm-cgi.c so it's fine now.

b) I compiled and installed idx per the instructions. Now, anytime an
incoming message goes to an ezmlm list, I get the following:

953538244.357569 status: local 1/10 remote 4/80
953538245.050340 delivery 1219510: deferral:

953538245.050372 status: local 0/10 remote 4/80
953538278.060982 starting delivery 1219511: msg 64726 to local
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm using ezmlm+idx in conjunction with vpopmail (and have been for
awhile).

Running ezmlm-test returns the following:

# ./ezmlm-test
usage: ps [ -aAdeflcjLPy ] [ -o format ] [ -t termlist ]
[ -u userlist ] [ -U userlist ] [ -G grouplist ]
[ -p proclist ] [ -g pgrplist ] [ -s sidlist ]
'format' is one or more of:
user ruser group rgroup uid ruid gid rgid pid ppid pgid sid
pri opri pcpu pmem vsz rss osz nice class time etime stime
f s c lwp nlwp psr tty addr wchan fname comm args
qmail isn't running or ps doesn't work as expected. If
qmail is not running, this script will fail. Will continue...

testing ezmlm-idx:ezmlm-idx-0.40
Using FQDN host name: audi.x.org
-n ezmlm-make (1/2):
OK
-n Using RDBMS support:
No.
-n testing for qmail:
=1.02
-n ezmlm-reject:
Broken Pipe
Broken Pipe
Broken Pipe
Broken Pipe
Broken Pipe
Broken Pipe
...

It's an endless broken pipe. I did hack out the ezmlm-reject portion of
the file per the test instructions but that doesn't fix this nor does it
help the actual mail server from core dumping.

If I run "file core" on the core I get:

core: ELF 32-bit MSB core file SPARC Version 1, from
'ezmlm-send'

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've searched the list archives
online as best as possible (the ezmlm list seems to be missing from
ezmlm.org..?) For the mean time, I'm going to downgrade back to 0.324. I
really want to use the new ezmlm-cgi and VERH features, so any help comes
with many a thank you in advance! :)

Also - per Fred's recommendation, I compiled WITHOUT optimization using
GCC 2.8.1 just to test another possibility and still the same error/break
point.

Looking forward to eventually getting the new version up and running. :)
