Remember that spamc-user doesn't work per user per say, it works per e-mail address. That means if you have any aliases, those aliases will not be party to any changes made. For example, [EMAIL PROTECTED] w/ an alias of [EMAIL PROTECTED] If I modify foo in mysql only, bar will still be stuck on the original settings. [qmailtoaster] Announcement of QMT-ISO
It had been asked for in the past, so I finally got around to doing it: QMT-ISO is a bootable CD that will format your system and install CentOS 4.4 and then install Qmail-Toaster for you. I have tested this on 3 different machines here at my office: P3 800Mhz 512M 4.3G P4 2.4G 2048M 200G Athlon XP 1800 256M 100G This is a Beta release, so I'm looking for feedback on how it performs or if there are any errors. If you do experience a problem, please email me off-list with as much information as you can. I have created a wiki page with some notes on the project (http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/QMT-ISO) that you will want to read for some more detailed information. The downloads are directly available from the QTP webserver: The ISO can be found at http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/iso/QMT-ISO-1.0.iso (504M) A (somewhat) compressed version can be found at http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/iso/QMT-ISO-1.0.tar.gz (477M) Thanks and have fun! I tried to copy daily.cvd.rpmnew as daily.cvd, but the problem persists. Any help? Thanks. I heard of this before and it apparently slipped through the cracks. Please create a new ticket for it at http//qtp.qmailtoaster.com (you'll need to register first). It doesn't appear to be a major fix. What does # ls -l /usr/share/clamav show you? In the meantime, you could try # rm /usr/share/clamav/daily.cvd # touch /usr/share/clamav/daily.cvd and see if that fixes it. Doesn't sound like that'll work though based on what you've said. Thanks. I am seeing what I think is the same error when I try to run this update. I did run an update last week that worked flawlessly. Eric, I tried your suggestion but it did not work, as expected. The full error from the sandbox build is: Copying files from clamav-toaster-0.90-1.3.10 to the linked sandbox ... /usr/share/clamav/daily.cvd in package clamav-toaster-0.90-1.3.10 is not a recognized file type: ls: /usr/share/clamav/daily.cvd: No such file or directory I hope this helps. Thanks. The problem appears to be that the file is listed in the rpm database for the package, but doesn't exist on the disk. Did you remove the old clamav-toaster package before installing the new one? If not, that could be the cause. The qtp-newmodel script doesn't do this (yet), but it should. I hope to release a fix for that part today. I just checked the spec file, and daily.cvd is still included there, and apparently shouldn't be. According to 'fuzzy' (in a private email): the 0.9x series clam has a /usr/clamav/daily.inc/ dir, with no daily.cvd file...doing incremental updates instead of making the 1 daily cvd file current. I don't know why touching the daily.cvd file wouldn't have remedied the problem, at least as far as creating a sandbox is concerned. I would think that should have worked. In the meanwhile, I'll be fixing qtp-newmodel today to: .) remove older clamav package when appropriate .) be a bit more lenient with creating a linked sandbox in these situations I've created a flyspray task to have the spec file fixed. -- -Eric 'shubes' - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[qmailtoaster] upgrade to QmaiToaster lplus
Friends I have QmailToaster and I am thinking of upgrading with the qmailToaster-Plus. I think i understand that QmailToasterPlus will make the regular Updating of the mail appliance an easier experience. My question is this : if the QmailToaster Plus ( simple as 1-2-3: ) should somehow go badly- will this break my qmailToaster. Thanks j

My question is this : if the QmailToaster Plus ( simple as 1-2-3: ) should somehow go badly- will this break my qmailToaster. Thanks j Probably not (there's always the slightest chance). A 'sandbox' is created during the process, which is used to build the binary rpms and actually do the upgrade in a 'test' environment. During this activity, your toaster remains fully functional. Anything that typically goes badly will happen in the sandbox, and your operational toaster will not be affected. Only after all the updates have been applied successfully in the sandbox are you given the opportunity to upgrade your live toaster. At the appropriate time, you will be notified that the toaster will be stopped and you will have the option to bail out. Up until this point, nothing will have changed in your operational toaster. If you elect to proceed with the upgrade at this point, the toaster is automatically stopped, the updates are applied, and the toaster is automatically restarted. The downtime will vary depending on your hardware and packages being upgraded, but typically takes just a few (2-5) minutes. If a message is attempted to be delivered to your toaster during this brief down time, the sending toaster should recognize that delivery was not possible and retry the delivery after some (relatively short) period of time. You can check your toaster's public IP address against each one using dig, or use http://www.robtex.com/rbls.html and/or http://tqmcube.com/rblcheck.php to check it too. FWIW, I'm presently using: -r zen.spamhaus.org -r bl.spamcop.net -r opm.blitzed.org -r list.dsbl.org -r cbl.abuseat.org -r dnsbl.sorbs.net tqmcube.com was a bit too strict for me. It was blocking financial statements. I haven't had a chance to update the qtp blocklists, but hope to do so fairly soon. Making the change is not a big deal. It'd been changed to being owned by vpopmail.vchkpw ... nasty surprise! I didn't find anything which caused it either, but now the logging works. I made a custom rpm for daemontools to get some extras. I'm glad. For some reason it was installing .10 and .11 at the same time (when upgrading). I'm guessing that might happen if there was a successful build but the install failed and the sandbox wasn't rebuilt. I'll have a look to be sure things are cleaned out when there are problems. The versions of the past 2 versions changed their syntax slightly (switching . and -). I didn't notice this, and it concerns me. The version checking/comparison in qtp-newmodel isn't very robust (yet), and adding or removing a '-' might hose it up. Could you be more specific here? [qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster with dovecot and dspam
Hi guys, I want to create a qmail server to use Dovecot IMAP and Dspam. With the case of Dovecot, I'd like to know if it is possible to eliminate Courier IMAP from the compilation. Are there some other dependencies on Courier that will cause the setup to fail and likewise with Spamassassin as well? I want the bits relating to Antivirus scanning to be present and I am hoping that excluding Spamassassin will not affect those bits. /Frank - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

With the case of Dovecot, I'd like to know if it is possible to eliminate Courier IMAP from the compilation. Are there some other dependencies on Courier that will cause the setup to fail and likewise with Spamassassin as well? No hard dependencies. . . I want the bits relating to Antivirus scanning to be present and I am hoping that excluding Spamassassin will not affect those bits. The latest simscan, we ship, includes support for dspam. We do not enable it, but you are welcome to make modifications and even write an article about it on the wiki. :) Thanks, Erik - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
