[qmailtoaster] HTML.Clamav.4808, a new virus?

2008-06-09 Thread PakOgah

Dear List,

Suddenly all email sent by my users are rejected by qmt-server, check on the
smtp/send/clamd log
it seems it was blocked because it contain HTML.Clamav virus, search on google
not much info about this virus.
I suspect it because SaneSecurity's Clamav signature is too sensitive.

does HTML.Clamav.4808 virus truly a virus or is it Clamav too sensitive? I am afraid if I am disable
SaneSecurity's signature the virus is spreading over the internet.

error msg:

Re: [qmailtoaster] Integrate Horde Webmail with Qmail

2008-06-09 Thread Roxanne Sandesara
You should simply be able to follow the installation guides and
instructions for Horde Webmail. Horde's design really doesn't care
what mail server is used, so long as it is functional and Horde is
properly configured to use it.

Note that unlike the built-in Squirrelmail in QMT, Horde requires
some somewhat less than secure and mildly problematic additions in
order to gain fullest functionality - shared address books and the
like require that you configure and maintain an LDAP server; and in
order for the mail filters in Horde to work with Qmail you have to
have FTP access configured (not SFTP, which I would personally have
greatly preferred) to allow uploading files into the mail filesystem.
Admittedly, I would prefer to see this changed, but I haven't had the
time to look into re-writing the necessary PHP.

I've built a couple packages (non-QMT, but Qmail) for Ubuntu, and I use
it for a few servers. It's the same as the Debian servers I've set up -
depends on what you need to do.

I don't know the link for one of them. The other one is now at
qcontrol.v2gnu.com (it's my project, so the link was easy ;) )
You can try out what I have done so far on the panel - I'm out of town
for the next couple weeks for vacation so I won't get too much done with it.
The demo site will reset every night at 11pm so feel free to play all
you want. I've disabled port 25 outbound for obvious reasons, but other
than that it's a fully functional Cent-QMT5 installation.

It's not much yet, but it is functional!

Hi Sergio,

I too agree with Kyle, Ubuntu is not as widely used for Servers as
CentOS. CentOS is essentially RedHat, just rebadged.

Go CentOS if you have the choice. It's a proven solution and QMT runs
beautifully on it.
