RE: [qmailtoaster] Issues with SpamAssassin

2009-08-25 Thread Ronnie Tartar
I think that spamdyke is running properly again, I'm not sure what I did
before, but I must have modified the smtp run file incorrectly. I put the
stock one back and then did the install after removing all of the spamdyke
stuff, worked like a champ.

I had to manually create the spamdyke.conf file with a modified script.

I did re-enable graylisting. Ok I understand what it's doing and I like
it. I was never graylisting before.

Spamdyke is a great tool. It took my server from running 1.5 or so to .05.
Good stuff.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Ronnie

You'll see DENIED_GRAYLISTED entries in the log, but the legitimate
messages will retry in a few minutes (the length of the delay depends on
the sending server). Subsequent emails from the same sender will not be
graylisted or delayed.

Eric,
As usual, you're a legend!

The logic is correct, just by reversing the entries, I can capture messages
from external domains.

Thanks very much

The qmail taps patch (included in the toaster) taps both sending and
receiving addresses. See http://www.inter7.com/index.php?page=qmailtap.
I presume this applies to both incoming and outgoing messages, but I'm
not certain about that. Looks like Ragu - "it's in there". ;)

Sorta 'feels' to me like spamdyke's running either in some sort of test
mode, or not at all. I don't see where that's going on though.

Have you fixed up your smtp/run file to get rid of rblsmtpd?

RE: [qmailtoaster] SMTP AUTH for Submission port

2009-08-25 Thread Phil Leinhauser
Are you sure the user account in mysql is allowed access from server A? By
default, MySQL is set for localhost access only. You need to set it for
u...@% instead of u...@localhost.

Subject: [qmailtoaster] SMTP AUTH for Submission port

Hi to all,

I configured two mail server , Server A services include
SMTP,SUBMISSION,CLAMAV and SPAMASSASSIN while Server B will provide the IMAP
and POP3 services. All incoming mails to Server A will go to Server B. My
users will be using SERVER A's submission port to send emails and will be
authenticated via SERVER B, I edited Server A's
/home/vpopmail/etc/vpopmail.mysql with the following
SERVER_B_IP|0|vpopmail|vpoppassword|vpopmail . But when i try to send email
seems server A does not accepting my username and password ? Any one had
done this before ? Your help is highly appreciated.

manny

You can remove all but the number of copies you want.

I'm also thinking of offering a CD in the mail method if people would be

I had promised someone in the past that I would let them get the
64-bit edition when they purchased the 32-bit edition, but I do not
remember who that person was. So, if you purchased a download of the
32-bit edition at any time in the past, log into your account at my
cart and open a ticket and I will give you access to the x86_64
edition at no additional charge. I'm also going to send an email
similar to this one to everyone who has purchased a download, so
don't be surprised if you receive a second email from me on this
subject. The other email will follow in the next day or two.

So to recap, if you have paid for a download of the CentQMT5 ISO in
the past and would like access to the 64-bit version, log into your
account at www.vcghosting.com and open a ticket asking for access.
Once we have reviewed your account you will be granted access
(usually in 24-hours or less).

If you have never paid for a download previously, then you may pay
for a download of the 32-bit ISO here:

http://www.vcghosting.com/cart.php?ca=add_other&oid=4
Or the 64-bit ISO here:
http://www.vcghosting.com/cart.php?ca=add_other&oid=26
They will be separate purchases.

Thanks!

I will say that it is pretty quick. While not too functionally different
than the 32-bit version, 64 bit is noticeably faster.
I also updated the artwork during the boot phase to make the 64-bit
version more noticeable.
Of course Redhat *still* hasn't patched anaconda, so I had to manually
patch it to allow the installation to occur (the version of stage2.img
that is supplied by RHEL/CentOS ejects the media before the %post of the
kickstart). Wish they would patch that - the fix has been there for
almost 2 years.

Anyway, enjoy!

Redhat doesn't seem to be keeping up with newer software and changes
very well. EL5 is (still) running samba-3.0, and samba-3.2 is already
out of maintenance. The only good thing I can think of about that is
stability. I'm eagerly awaiting EL6.

Welcome to the list.
I created an RPM for ezmlm with mysql support for a client about 6
months back. I believe I had to update qmailadmin at the time because
there was a bug with the ezmlm-mysql support in the version that was
stable at that time.
For the most part, you can remove the current ezmlm package and just
build the ezmlm-mysql src rpm supplied on their site. It does work
out of the box if I remember correctly and will probably give you
less headaches in the future with the exception of upgrading. You'll
probably have to do a manual update of the Qmailtoaster packages
after that point since almost all of the upgrade scripts will want to
install ezmlm-toaster for you again.

qtp-newmodel lets you bypass any package that's not absolutely
required, including ezmlm-toaster. The only problem you might have is
if other package spec files name ezmlm-toaster as a dependency. I
wouldn't think there would be any, but I don't know for sure. You can
use the --nodeps option for those packages if there are any.

The only package that has a dependency for it would be qmailadmin, so
you would need to do a force for that one package.

Hi Toni. Welcome to the list.

I'm not much help with ezmlm, so someone else will need to help you out
on this. I'm curious though, as to why you're needing to do this.

Also, you might want to consider using mailman in place of ezmlm.
There's a wiki page on it at
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Mailman. Mailman's a bit to set
up, but much more user friendly than ezmlm. You might not really need
the web access/admin though.
