[qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel fails: rpmforge

2010-08-03 Thread Patrick Ring
I'm trying to update a fresh load before I migrate to it and right after
sandbox mounts, I get:

Error getting repository data for rpmforge, repository not found
qtp-mount-sandbox - installation of dependent packages failed
qtp-mount-sandbox - is your qmailtoaster-plus.repo package up to date?

qtp-newmodel - qtp-mount-sandbox failed, exiting

I've run a yum update already, and a yum install
qmailtoaster-plus.repo says the qmailtoaster-plus.repo-0.2-2.noarch is
the latest.

Is there something I've missed, or are the repos affected by the
migration Jake had to do a couple of months ago?

Thanks,

[qmailtoaster] rpmforge / Centos 5.5

2010-08-03 Thread Martin Waschbuesch
Hi all,

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but when you use rpmforge
(which I rely on for a lot of perl php modules) and update mrtg using the
rpmforge package, the qmailmrtg-toaster stuff does not seem to work anymore.
Instead, the scripts that generate the graphs complained about a missing module.
Now, I reverted to the previous (official centos) version and explicitly skip
this package, but perhaps someone else has encountered it and knows why it
happens and can be fixed? E.g. might it be that newer mrtg releases are no
longer compatible? etc.

PS: If need be, I can again 'break' mrtg and produce the exact error message.

Re: [qmailtoaster] i have a trouble with open relay

Aren't the xyz:allow lines supposed to be on one line each?

E.g. you would have to do something like:

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private
192.168.58.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private
:allow,BADMIMETYPE=,BADLOADERTYPE=M,CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT=150,CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT=10,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domaink

I could be wrong, but that is what I am used to see...

I'm little doubt this can be done with the SMTPROUTE setting you had.
Total how many users you had on GMAIL. Either you can sync Sent Item
with the help of IMAP facilty provided in google setting or use smtp
authetication to send mail. But for SMTP authentication I think you
have to use single for single id.
Also I exactly don't know(never tested) whether smtp route support
SSL authentication or not. May be Jake or others can confirm this.

I think SMTPROUTE doesn't support SSL AUTH. But you can use third
party software (eg. STUNNEL) to get SSL AUTH support with SMTPROUTE.

I will be creating a new QTP release, but that might not happen for a

qmail-send sees that local messages are local, so it doesn't get to the
point of checking MX (why would it?), it simply passes the messages on
to qmail-local.

I think you should point your MX to the primary mail server for the
domain (QMT). Then configure the QMT accounts to send a copy to gmail.
Then everything would go both places.

In addition, having your MX point to gmail defeats the effectiveness of
spamdyke.

I don't recall seeing anything about this before. This sort of thing is
the reason that qtp-install-rpmforge installs the rpmforge repo in a

It be nice to make QMT work either way though. By all means, have at it.

Edit your /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp file to look like this:
192.168.188.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private

:allow,BADMIMETYPE=,BADLOADERTYPE=M,CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT=190,CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT=10,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private

Then execute:
# qmailctl cdb

You should be aware that making an open relay for a subnet is not a
good practice. It's best to program/configure the application to use
authentication instead.

That should fix you up ok in the short term.

I'd like to wait for that to be complete before cutting a new release.
