[qmailtoaster] Question about Maildir/cur

2008-09-25 Thread Charles Ferland
Hi there

I want to migrate an old qmail server to Qmail Toaster but I have a problem
with emails into cur folder. When I copy the old emails to the new server into
the same cur directory, when I check the email client, I redownload the same
emails already left into the server.

If I copy an existing file into cur to a new one, I get a new email message for
my email client.

How can I avoid the detection of the new email when I transfert cur folders
from old server to the new one.

Thank you

PS : sorry for my language..

Re: [qmailtoaster] Question about Maildir/cur

2008-09-25 Thread Charles Ferland
yes I do the right permission for the email file.

More details below:

I have 1 custom Qmail server in production (Subspace1) and 1 QMT in dev
(SubspaceDev)

I have an email in cur directory into Subspace1. I recreate the same email
adress into SubspaceDev and I scp the file from Subspace1 to SubspaceDev into
the same cur directory and good permission (vpopmail.vchkpw). When I reuse the
same email client to check email for SubspaceDev, I should not get new email
but I get one (the same I copied from Subspace1 to SubspaceDev. I don't know
if Qmail keep a record of each email somewhere else but I'm totally lost.

Maybe because the date(s) changed?
Try using the -p flag when you scp the files, or use rsync.

Subject: [qmailtoaster] QControl 1.0 has been released!

We've finally released QControl 1.0! (qcontrol.v2gnu.com)
It is a commercial product that is available for $39.95 USD. You may
read more about it on the main site (qcontrol.v2gnu.com) where we have
screen shots available. There is a link to purchase the package on the
site.
Your purchase will entitle you to all updates/fixes until the next major
release.
It was written for CentOS 4.x and 5.x. It will work on Fedora as well,
but will require some tweaking to get working on any other distros at
this point. Other distro support will be added in the next release.

The frontend PHP code may be modified to fit your needs. Read the
included man pages on the commands available that may be utilized in
your PHP program/application. We will put a copy of the man pages
online soon.
It is very flexible and can be used with almost any other application
you wish to write.

We WILL be releasing a free version. The free version will allow you to
control 1 domain and will be released shortly (next 30 days or so).

Thanks for your support!

PASSPROG="/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw"

exec /usr/bin/softlimit -m 900 \

With the latest version of QMT, the script :
/usr/share/toaster/isoqlog/bin/cron.sh need to be updated.

# Regenerate the file
for i in `vdominfo -n |grep . |grep -v "alias"`; do

It will parse all domains and not only at /home/vpopmail/domains if the

[qmailtoaster] Problem with Chkuser : Nomailbox

2008-10-21 Thread Charles Ferland
Hi all

We are with QMT since 1 week and I'm getting some problems since today. We have
web sites with mailing list (asp script) and when they send a mailing list,
they use our QMT smtp but when they send to an invalid local adress, the asp
script stop with an error. (error '8004020f')

I found this webpage for hints :
http://classicasp.aspfaq.com/email/why-does-cdo-message-give-me-8004020f-errors.html.

Wieh my old Qmail installation, I didn't have this problem. I tried to disable
chkuser from the Web Server's IP ( SENDER_NOCHECK="1" in tcp.smtp (with a
qmailctl cdb after changes) but I can't get it working. When I telnet manually
from the web server, the chkuser seems to works ??

telnet ip:25
helo x
mail from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
rcpt to: jhjehjwh at internalemaildomaine.com
511 sorry, no mailbox here by that name (#5.1.1 - chkuser)

I checked also from the old Qmail server, I had a 550 error message, it is a
problem if it's not the same error code for an invalid email account ?

I'm totally lost for this problem and I can't find any solutions.

If anyone can help me with this

Regards

So you're trying to use an ASP mailing list program that relays through your
Qmail server for outgoing?
Answer : yes

If so, you'll need to enable relaying for that IP if you have not already. This
can be done in the tcp.smtp file. Otherwise it will reject anything that is not
a local address, since it thinks your ASP script is trying to deliver mail to
local domains.

Answer : Already configured. I can send emails to existing email account
locally but when I get an invalid user account, the script stop ifself when QMT
reply with a 511 Error. I can't find diffrence between old Qmail server and QMT
at this point.
Example of tcp.smtp : IP.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",SENDER_NOCHECK="1"

Re: [qmailtoaster] tcp.smtp question

Example from man page :

tcprules treats 1.2.3.37-53:ins as an abbreviation for the rules
1.2.3.37:ins, 1.2.3.38:ins, and so on up through 1.2.3.53:ins. Similarly,
10.2-3.:ins is an abbreviation for
   10.2.:ins and 10.3.:ins.

I want to remove smtp from all of our production web servers and force
traffic through the toaster.

My question is, can I setup net blocks in the tcp.smpt rules?

  Example: 192.168.0.1/28:allow,RELAYCLIENT=""

where /28 defines my IP range? or will I have to declare each and every IP
(yuk *shoots self in foot*)

I really do not want t open the whole class C on each of our 7 subnets in
production...

  Dear Jake,

I am getting same mail multiple times, sent to
qmailtoaster-list@qmailtoaster.com by any of the subscibers to the
qmailtoaster-list. All the mails are recived 3-4 times.

I am not getting single mail many times from anywhere else. Please check it,
might be something wrong with your mail server or mailing list.

I cannot do anything about it. I receive the duplicates as well, and it is a
problem with the mailing list server.
Erik Espinoza runs the email server and the Qmailtoaster project, not me.
You'll need to contact him about the issue, but you'll probably not get much of
a reply. I didn't.

It does look bad to the community though.

[qmailtoaster] Smtp out delay by domain

2009-01-16 Thread Charles Ferland
Hi folks

I'm usning QMT sine four months and thank you for the updated and maintened
release package. I got a new request by a big client and I don't know if it's
built-in in QMT's package or not. The client will have a big email mailing list
and send all emails in one smtp send (around 500 rcpts). I would want to know
if it's possible to limit by external domain into a timeframe. Exemple : 5
Emails Max by minute to hotmail.com, 5 emails max to yahoo.com by minute and so
on. If we can do somthing else to avoid to be banned for massive emails for one
external servers.

Thank you in advance
