What is exactly what I am looking for, thank you. How long will it sit in the
queue if the receiving server is down and how often will it attempt to deliver
the queued email?

No, if the VPN is established from inside the firewall to the outside there
doesn't need to be any open ports.

Thank you everyone for your ideas. I am going to try and setup a VPN between
the QmailToaster and the Exchange Server. Once the VPN is established I am
going to try and route email through the VPN. This is presuming I am able to
pass traffic through VPN initiated by the server. I will let everyone know how
this works.

You could set your queuelifetime to an extremely high number and set up the
delivery in smtproutes. The QMT machine will then accept email for the domain
listed in rcpthosts and attempt to deliver them according to smtproutes. Since
the port is not open, the delivery will fail and the QMT machine will then hold
them until the queuelifetime is reached. You can effectively get the machine to
hold them for weeks until the other server is available to accept messages.
Or you could set the accounts up on the QMT machine so the QMt machine will
deliver the messages to the local accounts. Set the Exchange server to poll the
QMT server whenever you want to retrieve the messages. End result is till the
same.
Hope that helps. If not, I may be missing a detail in your setup.

RE: [qmailtoaster] VQADMIN Problem

2007-12-09 Thread James Ecker

Well through a combination of things the problem is solved. After deleting the
domain, I verified the domain folder was deleted, the domain table was deleted,
and all records for the domain were deleted from the dir_control table. I then
ran qmail-newu and recreated the domain with vadddomain. That seemed to fix the
problem for that domain.

I was able to recreate the problem by creating, then deleteing, recreating a
domain in vqadmin. If I do that the problem is recreated. The only way to then
recreate the domain, which can be managed by vqadmin and qmailadmin is by
following the steps above.

Thank you everyone for all of your help.

Thank you everyone for your help. I think I have gotten a little closer to
fixing the problem. When I run a vdominfo I get the following problem: domain:

faultAfter looking this problem up on Google, the only solution I found was to
review the vpasswd file. Are there any other suggestions? Does anyone know
where the vpasswd file is located? James

CentOS 5.1 x86_64, installed without any problems. My problem is I have ONE
domain I created that I cannot not manage from vqadmin, yet all of the other
domains are able to be managed. When I try to manage this domain I get an
internal error 500. I have followed other suggestions of verifying
dir_control.cur_users is zero, still same problem. I have deleted the domain
and verified the directory has been deleted from vpopmail/domains then recrated
it, but still ended up with the same problem only for this domain. Again, I can
create a domain by any other name and no problems. Any one have any ideas?

[qmailtoaster] QmailAdmin Problem

2007-12-06 Thread James Ecker

I have installed the latest edition of QmailToaster successfully CentOS 5.0 and
everything worked fine until I updated to CentOS 5.1. After updating to 5.1 I
lost the domain administrator, usually postmaster, for existing domains. If I
create a new domain I am able to administer the domain through QmailAdmin, but
domains created before the update no longer can be administered through
QmailAdmin. I have tried the suggestion of using vmoduser -a, but that did not
help..

Any suggestions would help.

[qmailtoaster] Outlook Express pop3/vchkpwd error fixed

2007-04-22 Thread James Ecker
If anyone has upgraded to CentOS 5 and the latest version Qmail-Toaster, and
you are having authentication problems (pop3/vchkpwd). Edit
/var/qmail/supervise/pop3/run and increase the softlimit to at least 4400
or greater.
