[qmailtoaster] Disabling DomainKeys not working?
Hi list, A lot of my domains are getting rejected mails with the following messages after I upgraded my Qmail lately: qmail-smtpd: qq hard reject (DomainKeys verify status: bad format (#5.3.0)): I searched the list and found the advice to disable the domainkeys, and I followed these steps: cd /var/qmail/bin ln -sf qmail-queue.orig qmail-queue And then restart qmail: qmailctl restart However, I am still getting the same reject message, does anyone know how to resolve this? -- Best regards, Peter Wu
[qmailtoaster] SMTP connection failed all of a sudden
Hi list, My Qmail server was working fine until 2 days ago I suddenly couldn't connect to the SMTP service externally. The service is running, and I can connect from localhost. At first I thought it's a firewall issue and I turned off firewall as well as iptables. However, the same thing is still happening. From the log I see that a few other connections got to make through from other countries. However, for mine, the server log just says there is a connection, and the telnet client simply says connection failed. Then the connection on the server would time out. This is so strange... can someone help me here? Best regards, Peter Wu
Re: [qmailtoaster] SMTP connection failed all of a sudden
Hi Bill, Thank you so much for your help. Apparently it's related to issue #1 you mentioned. The server could not find the blacklist server, and this is still due to the earthquake's damage of lines in Asia. It also could not find zen.spamhaus.org Oh well, nevertheless I cleared out the blacklist and now connections are restored. Thank you again for the prompt help. If you ever come by Guangzhou, China, drop me an email and I'll invite you to dinner :-) Best regards, Peter Wu On 1/18/07, Bill Kwok [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Peter, 1. Please check if your /var/qmail/control/blacklists contains any obsolete servers and make sure they can respond to you wihtin a resonable time. You can also minimize your blacklist. Currently, I have only one entry: -r zen.spamhaus.org 2. If you connect to the email server by using your ISP's dynamic IP, make sure it is not blacklisted. If that's the problem you are facing, you may consider creating the submission port (port 587) for authenticated users to send email. I suppose the stable version should have already had such feature built-in (Would anybody correct me if I am wrong). [qmailtoaster] Uninstall Qmailtoaster-Plus?
Hi list,After I installed thsoe spam rules I started not getting some emails from valid clients, is there a way or script to uninstall those spam rules installed by Qmailtoaster-Plus? Or to remove Qmailtoaster-Plus completely? Thanks.Best regards,Peter Wu
Re: [qmailtoaster] Uninstall Qmailtoaster-Plus?
Thanks for the info.On 11/11/06, Bill Kwok [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Have you checked log files to see if it's spamassassin block the email or rblsmtpd block the IP addresses of valid clients? My clients were having problem in sending emails due to their IP addresses have been blacklisted by certain RBL sites. Temporary solution is to edit your tcp.smtp and delete one or few of the RBL sites. A better way to deal with it is to enable submission port for your clients to send email. Or to remove Qmailtoaster-Plus completely? Which ruleset did you install? Removing the package won't restore yourblacklists either way. It did however create a backup of your oldblacklists file, renamed to include the date. this is located in the same directory as your other blacklists file. In addition, there is a qtp-menu item for setting rbls to the default(original) blacklist settings.I don't know about rules-du-jour. Perhaps qtp should have a backup/restorecapability for spamassassin rules. What would people like? I meant to add that you might try uninstalling spamassassin-tosater (withnodeps) and reinstalling it. I don't know if that would clear rdj or not though. Just delete the extra rules in your /etc/mail/spamassassin dir to get rid of the rules-du-jour rules that were downloaded. Then just remove the rules_du_jour cron job from /etc/cron.daily and it will be completely out of your system. I think what happened is he installed the blacklists, and one of them (probably from the aggressive model) is blocking some of his clients. Spamcop is known to block whole subnets, especially dial up IPs.

[qmailtoaster] isoqlog or similar program to monitor mail details?
Hi list,I like the output of isoqlog in the admin-toaster page. However, I also wish to see into details such as the mails sent by an user on a day, to which addresses, their sizes, etc. Is there an option in isoqlog that can enable this? Or is there another monitoring tool? Thanks.Best regards,Peter Wu

You can get the info from the logs (some ofit), and that's about the best that can be done to date as far as I know.cat current | grep [EMAIL PROTECTED]Will show you the messages by a specific user for the timeframe. If youlook at the smtp logs, that will be what they received. Look at the sendlogs for what they have sent. - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
