[QUAD-L] Another trip to Casa ER
I was in the ER/Hospital for 4 days a month ago, just very sick, shaky, etc. Of course it's a UTI. Never really felt good since then. But then a month later, I was into the ER again. This time admitted for 3 days. Still not sure exactly what the cause was. While just ending my B-Program, I got a very bad headache, not fun. BPresure was 170/1??. Obviously AD, but never had it that bad before. Many tests, but no clear cause. This time I went to the big city hospital (Phoenix, St Joseph's rather than the local one) much better care for sure. Not been a good month, Greg
Re: [QUAD-L] atrial fibrillation....
Yes I will! My eating habits are on now the top priority list. My ER visit really freaked me out, it scared the hell out of my wife, son, nurse and the rest of my family. I have been blessed with my health as quad for 19 yrs. I have had one flap done (about 6 years ago) and I have only been treated for one UTI. I know you are much newer injury, so they may have taught you differently. I have been on other medications for bowel problems. I have never had the heart problems, and I don't have a bladder anymore because of bladder cancer, but ileo-conduit and I use a flange with an ostomy bag that snaps onto the flange. I'm so sorry about your atrial fibrillation. One of my friends in Egypt just died from heart attack when his blood pressure was too low. His health had been okay, other than I don't think they have very good spinal cord injury care. He was in his early 30s with a law degree and had gone through stem cell in Russia. I can't find these pictures from his trip. He had, me. Saturday afternoon chat that Mark used to have and we exchanged information. It is quite sad as he was such a kind guy. I know the feeling bro- my BP went from my norm. of 90 over 60 to 194 over 117. I literally thought my head was going to explode. My bout with AD/BP was due to trapped gas pressing on my bladder not allowing it to release. Good Luck! I've read were gas can be much more pain full than a heart attack. It can trigger AD and cause a stroke, so it isn't a laughing matter when you see lethal flatulence on a death certificate. Re: [QUAD-L] Another trip to Casa ER
The air mattress I had died, well, the motor did. I went and bought a twin innerspring which was all I could afford. It was last Saturday and a holiday weekend meaning very few places were open and my selection was very small. I got a couple foam toppers, total waste. They don't do anything at all. I have a small flat pyramid of blankets and pillows placed strategically on the mattress. After a few minutes I feel as if I'm on cement. It is way too hard to lay on either hip. My spine is very misaligned and it just gets worse as time goes on. I had a dream I was being run over on a highway and woke up to find my pulse was making my low back and left hip hurt in short sharp spikes of pain. I've been back to using marijuana and tylenol pm's with my hydrocodone to get to sleep but it rarely lasts 2 hours. Doctors have written prescriptions. A wound care doctor and my regular doctor but medicare and medicaid are not responding to the DME or the doctors. I keep rearranging pillows because I'm anything but straight and this thing is flat. Medicare has bought me a mattress once in 32 years and they have never paid for a bed. I spent about 1.5 hours on hold with a lady that refused to give me her name earlier today and I was being really nice to her. Needless to say, the hold finally went off and I was disconnected. My brother in law got an old waffle type alternating pressure pad working but it died last night and I don't think it's fixable. It wasn't helping anyway. If anyone has any ideas, I would try anything. Thank you for your interest. Everyone that sees it can't believe it.
