That price should include the phone and the tech all in. That's why they're working on making it a downloadable app which should reduce the price. I also know they're working with health agencies to get them to buy phones to subsidize them for people. Their hearts are in the right place as a company, so I hope with time their technology will be more accessible. Jim, yes. You do need to be able to move your head. The phone tracks your head movements and that's what moves the cursor on your screen. Hope it's helpful! Hi Debra- I'm friends with one of the co-founders who developed the technology and I've tried the phone myself. It's pretty incredible what it can do, just takes a bit of getting used to. Re: [QUAD-L] Sesame | World's First Touch-Free Smartphone
I've met one of the founders of the company, he's a great guy. Really believe in what they're doing. I demo'ed the phone, it's quite impressive to be able to move the cursor with your head movements- I even played Angry Birds! Happy to answer or forward any questions to the team if it's helpful or you'd like to be connected. Thanks! Re: [QUAD-L] help, AD is happening when laying down at bedtime
Hi Derrick- Here's the nurse hotline from Craig hospital open to anyone: https://craighospital.org/resources/nurse-advice-line Hope it's helpful. I've definitely heard of kidney stones causing AD. I hope you figure it out soon and your friend feels better. Re: [QUAD-L] Quad dad dances after 17 years
Thanks all for your kind words and stories! Bonnie, I love that you never even considered it not being possible! One of my best friends (the bridesmaid in the wheelchair dance battling my dad in the video), is the same. Her and I danced our way through college. And Nancy, if your son loved it before, I sincerely hope he finds a way to tap into that on wheels. Knowing how hard it was for my dad, I don't underestimate the challenge, but my dad smiles in a new way now. It gives me goosebumps when I think about it. Here's to dancing!! [QUAD-L] Quad dad dances after 17 years
Hi all- My dad's been a quadriplegic since I was 12. 2 months ago, I got married, and although dancing was a door he had painfully shut after being paralyzed, he agreed. That night, my dad transformed. He didn't leave the dance floor and he's been a new man ever since. I made and share this video of his story for anyone who may relate (plus I'm super proud of my dad and to be his daughter). If even one person dances because of our story, we'll have made a difference. I hope you all enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc533Q7lwOE Thanks and have a great day!
