We had purchased a very large ski boat about 3 years before I became a quad. We loved going to the river to ski or pull 2 monster bertha's with myself and the kids on them hollering and laughing. My husband and I would go alone and picnic under a bridge and fish. Good alone time for us. My family refused to go without me so the boat was staying on dry land and my husband kept it clean and ready to go if I ever decided to try it. I can not sit upright alone and I felt like even when they got me in the boat and we hit a wave from another boat I would fall over. A neighbor stopped by the house and wanted to buy it about 2 summers ago. It is strange to see them drive by with the boat,, but I try to think that they are making happy memories of their own. [QUAD-L] Hospital
An extremely modest man was in the hospital for a series of tests, the last of which had left his bodily systems extremely upset. Upon making several false alarm trips to the bathroom, he decided the latest episode was another and stayed put. He suddenly filled his bed with diarrhea and was embarrassed beyond his ability to remain rational. In a complete loss of composure he jumped out of bed, gathered up the bed sheets, and threw them out the hospital window. A drunk was walking by the hospital when the sheets landed on him. He started yelling, cursing, and swinging his arms violently trying to get the unknown things off, and ended up with the soiled sheets in a tangled pile at his feet. As the drunk stood there, unsteady on his feet, staring down at the sheets, a hospital security guard, (barely containing his (laughter), and who had watched the whole incident, walked up and asked, "What the heck is going on here?" The drunk, still staring down replied: "I think I just beat the shit out of a ghost." Rob. Sick of deleting your inbox? Re: [QUAD-L] syrinx pain or neuro pain
I acquired quadraplegia in December of 97 (ho ho ho). Pain kicked in late 99. I began taking Neurontin August of 2005. Pain levels have decreased from 8 , 9, even sometimes an unbearable 10. Now it's 4 and 5,even that's pretty intense but i would just love 1 hour pain free just to remembr what it's like. The moment i wake it instantly triggers and this affects my willpower as i am so preoccupied trying to fight it mentally therefore becoming more tense causing it to linger. Thanks. Rob.
