Great Info Rose. But as you know as a woman, you don't have to be a Quad to get a UTI. Know your body and the important signs of an infection, whether it be a UTI or Bladder. You should always carry a supply of meds ... for such an emergency and drink lots of water to flush. Cultures, normally take 3 days, whether at home or in a hospital. Speedy Recovery! It took that long to get the culture results from the lab as I had more than 1 infections. I did not know that you would vomit from a UTI. Now I have to be sure and drink lots of water to keep hydrated. One sign that I did not pay any attention to was that my urine stunk. So to all of you be sure and pay attention to your body. Not feeling if your urine burns is not the only way to tell if you have a UTI. Be sure and drink and also get plenty of rest. Best Wishes, Rose In a message dated 11/29/2013 9:05:28 A.M. Re: [QUAD-L] Posts?
SP tubes are NOT supposed to reduce infections. They actually increase them bc u have a non-sterile foreign body in ur body. Every urologist will tell u that with an SP tube it is impossible NOT to have an infection 100% of the time. You just don't treat them unless you are symptomatic (fever/sweating). But they are easier to keep clean. If I didn't have one, I'm not sure I could stand living. The idea of being in a wet diaper is appalling.
