Great Info Rose.  But as you know as a woman, you don't have to be a  Quad 
to get a UTI.   Know your body and the important signs of an  infection, 
whether it be a UTI or Bladder.  You should always carry a  supply of meds ... 
for such an emergency and drink lots of water to flush.   Cultures, normally 
take 3 days, whether at home or in a hospital.

Standing therapy helps to empty the bladder and reduces  the chance of 
infections, as urine doesn't pool when standing.  An acidic  bladder also helps

SP tubes are NOT supposed to reduce infections. They actually increase them bc 
u have a non-sterile foreign body in ur body. Every urologist will tell u that 
with an SP tube it is impossible NOT to have an infection 100% of the time. You 
just don't treat them unless you are symptomatic (fever/sweating).

My husband (c5/6 since age 17 in 1992) has been fighting a serious pseudomonas 
infection in his bladder for two weeks...(heightening his central neuropathic 
pain in his bladder which he has had 24/7/365 since 2006.) Been very rough and 
scary. Today was the best day he's had in two weeks though. :)
