The problem is with Netscape. When I open the Application, which is set for

Try iCab.

Also, does anybody on the list have or know where I can get an upgrade card

Not worth the money.

and an external CD-ROM for this unit? I'm trying to do it as economically as

eBay or the swaplist (same page you found this list) is probably the best
place. Don't pay more than $30 for one.

Re: 840av/SEIV Lockups

2002-05-19 Thread Mark Benson

I have an 840av (as you well know I expect ;) ) with a Silicon
Express IV UWSCSI card installed with a 9GB Seagate Cheetah 18XL
connected to it. Recently it has been freezing while preforming disk
operations via the SEIV card and locking the entire machine solid (no
mouse, no nothing). I have the 1.6.5 Firmware installed and I've
checked to make sure all the RAM, VRAM and the SEIV card are properly
seated. I've zapped the PRAM, twice, and it didn't have any bearing
either. I'm lost for any further ideas.

For future reference in the archives I solved this problem by setting
the drive to 'Force Single Ended Mode' on the links block on the
controller board. This sets the drive to single ended mode instead of
LVD mode.

Re: Quadra 605 Portrait Display

2002-05-19 Thread Michael Emery

Me:

How do I make a Q605 drive an old BW Apple Portrait
Display?

Clark Martin [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

Plug it in!

I have tried that, but it never seemed to do the trick -- until today!
Bumfuzzled but nonetheless pleased. :-)
