[Quantum Owners] Stoneleigh Question...

2019-04-18 Thread Niall McCracken
Hello there

I’ve recently bought a H4 (I’m repairing the interior and mostly have it back
together sort of ) I was thinking about coming down to Stoneleigh. My son and I
came down a couple of years ago and came second in the quiz (ahh.. if only I
knew Britney Spears birthday I could have snatched victory haha).
I was wondering if people were camping or if there was anywhere we could tent
up, or if we’d be welcome to set up a tent or if people are mostly staying for
the day or overnight too.
Also my quantum isn’t really in showroom quality at the mo, is there likely to
be anywhere we can put her where she want draw too much attention or is there
more general parking around the site (don’t want to let the side down!).

Thanks Niall

Re: [Quantum Owners] Stoneleigh Question...

2019-04-18 Thread 'Steve Kodź' via Quantum Owners Group

Niall,

It would be great to see you and your car at Stoneleigh.  The club will
have a stand as usual and it is open to all Quantum Owners.

There will be club members camping on the stand, so you would be most
welcome to join us.  While the quiz hasn't been written yet, it will be
ready for the Sunday evening, so time to swat up on Britney Spears!

Due to the HS2 line running though the show ground where our stand used
to be we have a new location, but it should be easy to find as you'll
enter the show ground by the main kit car entrance and drive straight to
the main halls, finding the QOC stand on the right once you get to the
halls.  See
https://www.quantumowners.club/index.php/qoc-events/84-qoc-events-2019/314-stoneleigh-2019-important-information

Re: [Quantum Owners] I'm sure somebody said kit cars don't go rusty....

2019-04-18 Thread Jim Hearne
Taking it apart is the easy bit, well, it took about 4 days and still not
quite finished.

Putting it back together will be the fun bit.

No damage to the body or floor mouldings itself, only the added fibreglass
joining the 2.
Oh, and where i cut the body into 3 parts, otherwise it would have been
almost impossible to move.
But apart from those cuts, one across the middle of the sills, and one down
the front wings (i've a thought to make it a flip front like the 2+2) all
cuts were were where the original joints were.
And one horizontal cut across the vertical rear panel behind the X brace (or
on mine a Y brace as one end had rusted off), that left part of it on the
body and part on the floor and reinforced both of them.

I think it would have been almost impossible (or at least taken 10 times
longer) without using a multitool (the ones with the oscillating blades).

With that i could plunge directly into the joints.

There were some surprises in the construction, i will give details later as
some are worth bearing in mind for other owners.

[Quantum Owners] Looking forward to seeing many of you again at Stoneleigh.

2019-04-18 Thread Clem Robertson
It's been a while and some of you know, my Xtreme is back in my ownership.
The car has spent most the year off its wheels while I worked on and off
getting her safe to drive again. She looked good to the passing eye but the
previous owner was not an expert in engine removal and must have had a big
box full of bits when he finished putting her back together.

Anyway, my Xtreme is going for her MOT next week and fingers crossed she
will pass allowing me to bring her to Stoneleigh on the Monday.

I will be there on the Monday regardless but hopefully with the car.

Clem

Re: [Quantum Owners] Stoneleigh Question...

Isn't the road that goes past the halls closed off when the show is open? If
so you might have to drive round the back of the club stand.

Due to the HS2 line running though the show ground where our stand used
to be we have a new location, but it should be easy to find as you'll
enter the show ground by the main kit car entrance and drive straight to
the main halls, finding the QOC stand on the right once you get to the
halls. See

Regards,
Steve

Hello there

I’ve recently bought a H4 (I’m repairing the interior and mostly have it

(ahh.. if only I knew Britney Spears birthday I could have snatched
victory haha).
I was wondering if people were camping or if there was anywhere we could
tent up, or if we’d be welcome to set up a tent or if people are mostly
staying for the day or overnight too.
Also my quantum isn’t really in showroom quality at the mo, is there
likely to be anywhere we can put her where she want draw too much
attention or is there more general parking around the site (don’t want to
let the side down!).

Thanks Niall

A good point. As long as we don't have to go along the railway cutting we'll
be ok!
