[SlimDevices: Radio] Just got mine- a few questions
After a hard slog through a setup (my network is WPA2, so it makes things a bit more difficult), I have a few questions to ask: I finally got connected and mistyped my email addy in the Sq Radio's window (I hit the dial too fast) and can't seem to find the menu entry where to correct it- that would be helpful. Also, I noticed there's a page http://www.pandora.com/logitech that says we should have free Pandora access with a code provided in the device for free Pandora access? I still say that a good app would be a radar. User specifies a URL containing a jpg, and once a specified period the applet goes and downloads the jpg. One could also animate it flipping through older jpgs. Then the user could flip through it, the weather app, and custom clock through the switcher applet. -- vw195 vw195's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32644 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74636 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm Failure - any ideas why?
I had my first total alarm failure this morning, no radio stream, no backup sound, nothing. The radio is set with a repeat alarm to go off at 06:10am Mon - Fri, with the current playlist set as the option to play, and the radio stream set to Radio 2. It's been fine since I set it up at Christmas, and nothing has changed recently. I have a second alarm set for Saturday, at 06:45am, and twice this has sounded as the back-up alarm, so I know that does sound (although no idea why it did!) At 06.25am this morning we realised the alarm hadn't gone off, but when I pressed "play", the radio came on straight away on the correct channel. Sadly, this now has made my wife very unhappy with the radio, especially as I can't find any reason to explian the failure, so now we wil have to have a second alarm clock as backup - which sort of defates the object of the SBR. I can't see any log file that might have a relevant error in it, so I wondered if anyone had any ideas of what might have gone wrong and what I can do to at least make sure the back-up alarm sound goes off? Thanks for that explanation. Screensaver was set to off when off, but not when stopped. I changed stopped = off. Is the standby status considered "off" or "stopped" from a technical aspect? When the screensaver is active, pressing a button will only de-activate the screensaver, not performing that button. This is particularly annoying with the power button, presets and volume control. For example, when the machine is playing and you want to power it off, you need to press the power button twice. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Specific problems with CBC Radio
Thanks for the link, George. Although over the past few days, I had visited the CBC site on numerous occasions, I missed the link that you provided. Perhaps I ought to be more observant, thus I appreciate the link and learning experience. I had noted that the change to the MP3 format was taking place on Saturday, but the accompanying instructions in the main message were confusing regarding updating favorites. The note seemed to imply that manual insertion of URLs was necessary or one could reboot (perhaps a wrong choice of words) the CBC app. However, my presets were working, but then the signal would cease after ten minutes, thus the URLs were functioning and had apparently been updated by the CBC. In addition, the technical support message indicated that buffering was to be expected, but my radio did not indicate a buffering problem; the signal simply ceased. The CBC app "went down" at the same time. In any case, I did not experience "buffering" problems or interruption of feed this morning during the hour that I listened to CBC Radio One from Sudbury. Hopefully, the issues have been worked out. Again, thanks to all for your help.
