SB Radio Wlan ID ndern

2010-03-04 Thread doubleugk

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] batteries out of stock ...

2010-03-04 Thread Muele

I think the reason Logitech is so terrible at this whole
product-to-market / product available for sale - thing that Logitech has
a completely different corebusiness.

If one mouse is retired and it's replacement is late to market and
another is out of stock their customers still have 25+ mice to choose
from without going to the competitor. No problemo.

But if the SB Classic is retired, the SB Touch delayed and the SB
Receiver is unavailable, then there is only two alternatives for the
customers: scavenge on eBay or go to the competitors.

The sad thing is that when the fiscal year ends the Squeezebox
end-to-end division(s) (Don't know and don't care what they're called
this week) will get bashed for not living up to the sales expectations.

I believe some of the issues we are seeing (especially on Radio,
batteries etc.) are because they are actually exceeding sales
expectations.
I can't imagine any other reason for the first production batch of the
batteries not even being sufficient to fulfill all pre-orders.

Eigentlich sollte der Name der SqueezeBox auch in Deiner

Ich schätze mal es ist ein Caching-Problem in Deinem Router.
Versuche mal, die Fritzbox neu zu starten, vielleicht hilft das schon.

I know this thread is titled batteries out of stock. But my comment
was more about how Logitech handles product life cycle in general. Even
though the accessory pack is overpriced IMO[1], I don't think it will
affect revenue much[2] even if it sells big time.

[1]Obviously my opinion is wrong. Since even the preorders exceed the
expectations, the price is not too high for the market.
[2]Bigger impact: The revenue generated by the number of extra Radios
that will be sold because it's posible to get a battery, than the actual
battery-revenue.

That's interesting because the release of the battery was delayed quite
some time because the final software needed wasn't ready. People have
been waiting for the battery for quite some time.

If pre-orders were to blame, you would have thought that could have
been seen sooner and more production ordered while the software was
being polished for release.

You also have the question of why new buyers got batteries when some
pre-orders were told they will now have to wait.

All very odd.

2010-03-04 Thread dindin

Oofda, thanks for your help again.

I changed the squeezebox to a static ip address (advanced - ip address
distribution - connection list)

so now it says:

Squeezebox 192.168.1.3 00:05:16:47:0c:27 Static

The rest of my network is still set to 'Dynamic'

When I look in the 'Main' section under My network I see:

PC Name:Squeezebox
Connection Type: Ethernet
IP Address: 192.168.1.3
Status: Active
REMOTE ACCESS: ENABLED

In the Edit Port Forwarding Rule I unchecked Specify Public Address
and changed Networked Computer / Device From Squeezebox to
192.168.1.3

And still the ports aren't open! I'm pulling my hair out by now! :)

If anyone could post some screenshots of their port forwarding
rules/static ip set up, I would greatly appreciate it!

If a business wants to build up an inventory you need to commit funds
to your suppliers. In the current climate many businesses either do not
have the cash or find it too expensive to borrow the money.

The other pressure, from shareholders for a quoted company, is too make
money now i.e. for this quarter's results. Investing in an inventory
for future revenue is not so appealing in that context.

I can confirm that Alarm 2 does not sound if Snooze is hit. (This was

Another Bug: If you have Alarm Timeout at 10, Snooze at 5, and hit
Snooze after 8 minutes of play, the Alarm Times out at 10min, BUT at
13min the Radio turns on but without the Alarm Function (i.e., no
Snooze/Turn off option) -- So Snooze is not working!

Has this been filed as a bug yet?

BTW, a better solution would be if we had an option to have a back-up
alarm sound after 10 minutes of the 1st Alarm. The Bose Wave radio has
this option. (I submitted a request for this a few months ago

Could there be a bug whereby an alarm attempts to fire whilst already
 snoozing a previous alarm?
 Has anyone else noticed this?

Pretty certain this exact same thing happens on the Boom. I'll have to
check when I get the chance.

Bleugaspode
The reason I would want to do this is that when attempting to hit
Snooze on the Boom remote it is very easy to hit Off instead. Get this
wrong and you snooze for 24 hours! I've come to a compromise where the
2nd alarm is set a good 40mins (panic stations, but not a disaster)
after the first. By that time I am either up or fast asleep again coz I
hit Off by mistake.

Try doing the update IMMEDIATELY after re-booting.
Unplug the Radio, plug back in, when the Radio home menu appears go
directly to the Software Update section, try again.

If that doesn't force the completed update then I'd suggest you contact

Ok, I suppose that makes sense. One of them needs to be cancelled.
With this behavior I imagine you can set the first alarm to something
gentle, hoping it wakes you up, and set the second one to play louder or

 us.

Oh, that certainly doesn't bode well for us on backorder

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] 7.4.2 Possible new alarm reliability bug?

2010-03-04 Thread ziza

Like Squishy and Tony T. I have had alarm problems with 7.4.2,
mysqueezebox.com, globally set on radio to 5 min. snooze,10 min.
timeout, no fade-in.

Generally, I don't use snooze even though it's set.

Alarm 1 set to 6:20, musical sound effect
Alarm 2 set to 6:40, local radio stream

Behaviours:
Dismiss alarm 1 at 6:20 and allow alarm 2 to fire and timeout. At 6:50,
the radio is off, eat breakfast, come back to bedroom, radio is on,
seems to be in alarm mode playing local radio station.

This morning, a new strangeness …alarm 1 went off at the right time and
was dismissed. Alarm 2 went off at the right time but rather than
playing local radio station, it played a synthetic sound. I'm not sure
it was the backup alarm because it wasn't screeching loud as described.
The network was up and my local radio station came on as soon as I hit
it's preset. Of course, I'm happy there was an alarm at all, even if it
wasn't my alarm of choice.

Described behaviors have been inconsistent. And there was one morning
when the second alarm didn't fired at all, neither did the backup.

I do have auto rescan going nightly so I don't have to remember to run
it manually. I had already suspected that could be a problem as well
and was planning on disabling it to test.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Setting Radio Presets

2010-03-04 Thread Richie

I'm having trouble setting my preset buttons on my Radio.

When I set them on my Booms it was quite simple to do through the web
interface but I just cannot find the page any more, can someone point me
in the right direction.

Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SqueezeBox Radio battery kit avalible

2010-03-04 Thread peterw

BTW, all the battery links I've looked at in this thread have been for
basic NiMH cells, but word from a Logitech engineer is that the official
battery pack uses Low Self-Discharge NiMH cells. From what I understand
about NiMH (also having used them casually for years), you want LSD
cells if you're going to leave your Radio unplugged, or even plugged in
but fully off (in which case the batteries aren't being charged) for
weeks or months at a time, so the combination of self-discharge and the
very slight power drain of the microcontroller won't drain your
batteries so low that they can't be revived. Even with LSD cells, you'll
want to avoid leaving your Radio off for many months at a time, but
using LSD cells would buy you an extra margin of safety.

I've filed an enhancement request to make Radio a bit more intelligent
about keeping batteries from going flat if it's left off but plugged
in, but I don't know if/when that enhancement might be added. Since
Logitech is using LSD cells, Radio probably doesn't need to be turned on
as often as they've suggested, so there probably aren't as many
customers at risk of dead batteries as I first feared.

Just set them on the radio itself. Go to the station you want to
preset -- press and hold the preset button you want to assign to that
station.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] 7.4.2 Possible new alarm reliability bug?

2010-03-04 Thread caedmon5

I bought the Radio a couple of days ago and updated. Had no problem the
first day with the alarm, but since then can't get it to fire at all...
though it did seem to go off randomly at some other time the other day
(since I wasn't in the room when it did go off, I'm not quite sure how
much later it went off than it was set. I heard it about 3-4 hours after
it was set. Since I was in EST, I suppose it could have been going at
whatever time I set PST.

This is not a question of wireless problems: the router is working and
the radio is connected and will play on command. It is only a question
of the alarm. I have tried running multiple alarms, single alarms,
sounds rather than radio, turning off all alarms and then starting a new
one, turning off the radio using snooze before the alarm is supposed to
start; pausing radio and setting the alarm during the pause; turning off
the radio and setting the alarm to fire while it is off; factory reboot;
reinstalling the .2 firmware (there doesn't seem to be a way of rolling
it back to earlier versions on the radio), etc., etc.

Basically it either isn't firing or it isn't firing at a predictable
time.

I've got exactly the same issue . Is it just a temporary download server
problem ?

FW 7.4.1 7915 , wants to upgrade to 7.4.2 8423 .

Thats the front of your radio.
Look at the X.
You can look through the black plastic there.
