Does this have any potential applications for the Duet Receiver? My

That's really handy- especially because Alexa has other triggers (such
as my front door opening!) and because the alarms built into the server
don't let you specify a different volume for each alarm.

Is the functionality there where I can do multiple steps on one trigger?

For example: set SB1 volume to 15%, set SB2 volume to 30%, sync SB1 and
SB2, then play?

Am I limited to 9 favorites for what to play?

Usually I just use the alarm since my day ends around the same time
every day.

That said I do have smart things, alexa, and presence and door sensors.

I just installed media server for Alexa. Wonder if there's a way to use

[SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm and Headphones Port

2021-03-14 Thread FredFredrickson

Hi all,

I use my radios as receivers and plug the headphones ports into other
speakers. Works well for my purposes.

However, one problem is that I want to set it to start up music for when
I arrive home using an alarm, however that pushes the music to the
built-in-speaker.

Is there either a way to force it to use headphones port or a different
way to auto-start music on a schedule?

I did some searching and found a headphones switcher plugin but I don't
know how to get that working and am not sure this would apply to alarms
anyhow.

Thanks!

I have two receivers synced, and I can't finish a single track... It
just gives that error and skips to the next track! Over and Over

[SlimDevices: Radio] Halloween Success Story

2010-11-03 Thread FredFredrickson

Just wanted to mention a quick success story-

Halloween came around this year, and I decided to put up decorations in
my yard and give out candy in the yard.

But, I needed music. A quick search on Rhapsody shows there's a bit of
Halloween music and scary sound albums, so I grabbed the radio, brought
it outside, and sure enough the wireless signal was strong enough to
reach- and the radio was loud enough to add ambiance to the entire
neighborhood! I got a lot of compliments and questions regarding the
radio.

Great product, guys. This just illustrates the usefulness of
portability combined with the ease of use. I didn't even prepare for
music- it was an afterthought, but the squeezebox delivered.

I think putting it on repeat will continue retrying a station. Also
helps if the station automatically kicks you after an hour (some

I might be wrong, because I don't yet have a battery for mine, but I
feel like I read somewhere that even when it's completely off, there's

Am I totally off base?

What if you just set an alarm for when you expect to use it so it's on

Or does this only work on AC power?

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio in reboot loop

2010-02-10 Thread FredFredrickson

Reboot loops I have seen during the beta were usually caused by a bug
with what was playing. If the currently playing song caused a bug that
caused a reboot, then the reboot would happen again when it started and
tried to play the same bit again...

Just make sure you're using the latest firmware available- I haven't
seen a reboot loop in months. If you get into a reboot loop, I usually
stop it by using the web-based control panel to pause the music. Next
time the radio boots it usually doesn't reboot!

Shadow- There's at least one open bug that I know of causing the radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Ive preordered the Radio...

This little player can get loud - without any distortion. It's
ridiculous! I put it out my window and listen in my yard when we have
bonfires, and I can't put it past 75% without it being too loud for the
neighbors!

I don't think the DSP tweaks are in place yet though, so I can't
comment too much on the sound- I would like to have a bit more bass, but
I get the feeling that's coming soon. It's very clear, and like I said,
absolutely no distortion when you get loud- which you just can't say for
most boom boxes.
