Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm funtionality broken. Why did I buy this?

I found the ultimate fix was to replace it with a RECIVA based streaming radio from GraceDigital. This solution has proven to be so reliable (100%) that I bought another based on this platform from OXXDigital. My SBR has been sitting in a box in the closet since. If and when Slim Devices and Logitech figure out how to write firmware for a function as complicated as an alarm clock (eyeroll), I'll consider bringing it back out. -- JonInAtl JonInAtl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37231 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80455 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Went the same route. The SBR now lives in a drawer waiting for the day they fix the software. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] I am getting totally fed up!
I solved my alarm, connection, and totally random player stopping problems in one fell swoop! I replaced my SBR with a Reciva based radio from Grace Digital. The alarm works EVERY morning! Player streams consistently every night until the sleep timer shuts it off. No, it doesn't have the same look or feel of the SBR, but it's 100% USABLE and that, in my opinion, trumps all else. As for the SBR... it's on my desk in at work where I don't have to relay on it for anything, like, you know, waking me up. Yes it still stops playing at random, but now I get my finger exercise re-starting it rather than flipping it off. -- JonInAtl JonInAtl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37231 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78256 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Exactly. I have to deal with computer issues all day. I don't expect to come home and have to deal with a bug infestation on a consumer grade streaming device as well. I just want to set it up once and enjoy. Now I have no problem per-se running a SBS at home so that can happen, but I shouldn't HAVE to. That's not the way the device is marketed. -- JonInAtl JonInAtl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37231 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78256 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

I was hoping that some progress had been made. Apparently there is no way to stop the radio from nagging to install the update. toby10;543094 Wrote: > You had successfully rolled back to 7.4, why did you update again? > http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=539490#post539490 > > Nightlies are beta, I'd strongly advise not using those if you expect > stability. -- JonInAtl JonInAtl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37231 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78256 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] I am getting totally fed up!
Yes I did get the update. The radio just sits there at the spinning wheel animation trying to access anything at MSB. Favorites->wheel Internet Radio->Local->wheel Apps->wheel It will only work if I A. Re-boot it, but then it only works for 10 min or so B. Press a preset button- it goes to the preset but accessing anything on MSB from the home screen results in the animation running forever. C. Run SBS and connect through that. However that is not an option as I bought the radio so I didn't have to have the computer running all the time. Apologies for the tone of my orig post but I'm very frustrated. egarc;543093 Wrote: > Did you get the 7.5.1 update for SBS? [SlimDevices: Radio] I am getting totally fed up!
First of all, I'm not an idiot when it comes to networking. I worked 8 years as network admin for webmd.com and am now head of Macintosh IT for my current employer. I know my way around a network. Bought my SBR back when 7.4.2 was the latest firmware, over all I had few if any problems. Since the dreaded 7.5 update, nothing but problems. If I run my own SBS under OSX, things are fine, however, I don't always want to keep that box running 24/7. At the moment, I'm watching the animated circle do it's thing on the home screen after choosing "Favorites". It's been sitting there spinning for the last 15 minutes. This problem is repeatable any time the radio has been playing for 10-15 minutes or more (works fine after a cold boot). If I press one of the 6 preset buttons, it changes to that preset, but try to select "Favorites" and it just sits there spinning. This problem also exists with the nightly builds when I push the contained Radio firmware to the unit. Something with this many problems is a CONSUMER product?!?! Is someone trying to sabotage Logitech? Whomever tested and approved this software before pushing it should be grateful they're not one of my employees. I'm this close -><- to tossing it (can't sell it on eBay as I'd like to preserve my reputation there) and buying something from *anyone* else. Now, what is the fix for this? -- JonInAtl JonInAtl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37231 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78256 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
