I had a gander over at the support site. People *are* mentioning issues with the software, and the tone is similar to that here. Posts with titles such as Squeezebox Radio - Disastrous software for months ... and Squeezebox 7.5.1 Update--Same Old Problems would certainly give them a clue that there might be a problem. And, given these posts (and the moderator over there stating "Please be assured that your voice is being heard") would lead any decent product manager to have a gander over *here*, where he/she should *know* (or would certainly find out in short order) that there is a fairly active community largely dissatisfied with the Radio software design. It's time for Logitech to either properly fund/staff this product line or sell it back to a specialty audio manufacturer. The Radio could have infinitely more potential, and the developers could focus on things like music and programming features, if the fundamental client/server design were sound and silly things like an alarm clock simply "just worked". -mark -- mbonsack mbonsack's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1398 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82092 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

I just noticed this on my Radio running off SBS 7.4.2. How bad can this problem be with current hardware? Drifts of minutes per *day*? [SlimDevices: Radio] Firmware update hangs
Over the last few weeks there's been quite a few firmware upgrades with 7.4.2, which the Radio will indicate when powered on from a standby state. If I elect to update the firmware, it takes an extremely long time (30 min or so) to download, then gets stuck at 99% and hangs there forever. A full reboot by pulling the power is necessary; a long hold of the power button is not sufficient to clear this hang. After this forced reboot and subsequent power on, the same prompt for new firmware is presented and this time it proceeds normally (~1 min to download with automatic reboot). Has anyone seen this? -- mbonsack mbonsack's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1398 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74696 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] Connection problems to Squeezebox Server
Every so often my radio gets into a state where the little blue wifi connectivity icon in the lower-right corner turns blue indicating that the Radio cannot connect to SBS. The weather screensaver applet itself works fine so I know overall connectivity is OK. The only way I can reconnect to SBS, despite multiple retries via the radio front panel, is to hard reset the device. Then it comes up OK every time. Anyone else seen this? I'm running the latest 7.4.2 but it seems to be independent of any particular SBS release. -- mbonsack mbonsack's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1398 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74644 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

A flailing arm after being woken up has an equal chance of turning this knob in either direction. A misplaced right turn when the user intended a snooze could be a real bummer. The only way to use the big knob in the middle with a flying arm is to limit it's use to *one* function -- pick one, but only one. [SlimDevices: Radio] Preset to specific location in menu tree
Is there any way to set a Radio preset to a specific location in the menu tree rather than a playlist/song/station? I'd like a preset for, say, all of my Pandora stations -- but not necessarily a specific one. That way I could tap one of the presets with the radio off and be presented with my list of Pandora stations from which to choose without having to go through the tree.
