Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] New Squeezebox Radio
Wow, just wow. I check into the forum every once in a while to see what is going on, and I run across this thread. As you can see from my signature, I have a number of SB units. I will continue to use and enjoy them until they break, or something occurs that makes them unusable. One reason I was drawn to SB is that it is so flexible and open source. I can pretty much make it do exactly what I want to do. Hopefully those qualities will result in good things happening in the future, rather than bad. Good luck to all the loyal SB owners. vrette's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15256 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96188 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Radio Drop Out Problem Fix (for me)
I thought I would share this because it might help someone. We recently had our at&t U-verse 2Wire 3800HGV modem/gateway/router replaced with a newer 3801HGV model due to issues with the older unit. I had always used the 802.11g wireless transmitter in the 3800HGV gateway for my Squeezebox wireless devices, and set the newer 3801HGV up the same way. Pretty soon we were getting drop outs on one of the radios, even though the signal strength appeared strong. So I disabled the wireless radio in the new 3801HGV, and added an Asus ASUS RT-N12 configured as an access point using 802.11g. The Asus is located in the same area as the at&t gateway. I have experienced zero drop outs on the radio after making this change. I also have an D-Link DAP-1522 access point running 802.11n located fairly close to the Asus unit, and now my wireless networks works great with all of my wireless devices. So I guess the moral of the story is if your radio is showing a strong signal, but still dropping out, the issue might be with the wireless access point rather than the radio. -- vrette (3) SB Touch, (3) SB Radio, Cambridge Audio 840AV2, 340T, DacMagic, B&W 683, HSU VFT2-MK3, Logitech Harmony 880, 7.6.1 on Asus E35M1-M PRO Win7 64 bit , and a bunch of other stuff... vrette's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15256 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90054 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Station blocked by broadcaster
Just got this off the Logitech forum. I gave it a try and it works. No art, but I can live without it for radio. Was emailed this from FROM CBS INTERACTIVE MUSIC GROUP - Due to licensing issues, the station you were listening to on TuneIn is no longer available. On desktop to continue listening to your favorite CBS stations, go to Radio.com. For mobile users, you can download the official Radio.com application from the iTunes store or your Android Market place. For internet radio device listeners, you can access stations directly as follows: http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/KROQFMAAC.plsOR http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/KROQFM.pls Please replace the station call sign with the appropriate call sign. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Station blocked by broadcaster
I don't get the rationale of pushing ads to radio listeners. I can listen to OTA radio all day long and not see any ads. I hear the ads on the stations just like everyone else. On the other hand, alienating hundreds of thousands (maybe more?) listeners with internet radio hardware is a bonehead move. I'm not going to download their crappy iOS app just so I can listen on my iPhone. I'll either turn the analog radio on, or move on to another station. As of this morning, when I try to tune in WXRT in Chicago on my SB Radio, I get an audible message stating "This station is currently unavailable" and text on the display that says "Station blocked by broadcaster."
