Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Disable Remote Control?
Thanks for reply maggior. I configured my Squeezebox Classic to work with the JVC Remote. My luck was that I have a JVC DVD Player in the bedroom, which could be used to learn my Harmony One the required IR commands. I must admit it would have been easier if the Radio could be disabled in the Squeezebox Server menu. Sadly this is not the case. I will check out the SSH approach later. I know this is the wrong forum to complain about the Harmony One, but it would have been a lot easier if the remote control could learn IR Codes listed in jvc_dvd.ir insted of learning the tricks from another remote. -- vindum vindum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35427 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73261 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

If you log into your server and go into settings for the player, you will see settings for remote. Uncheck both boxes there and save the settings. That will disable all remote access. I have a similar situation in my bedroom. What I have done is set one to only respond to the squeezebox remote and the other to a JVC remote. By using my DirecTV remote and configuring AV1 for a JVC DVD player, I can use my DirecTV remote to control my squeezebox. Have fun! -- maggior Rich - Setup: 2 SB3s, 4 Booms, 1 duet, 1 receiver. [SlimDevices: Radio] Disable Remote Control?
Hello there I have a Squeezebox Classic and a Squeezebox Radio which is placed in two rooms, but still so close so you can see from one to the other. I control the Classic with a Harmony One Remote Control. My problem is, that turning on the Squeezebox Classic, with the remote control also turns on the Squeezebox Radio! The Infrared eye on the Radio is so sensitive, that it pickes up the signal send to the Classic. This happens even though the remote control is pointing away from the Radio. Can the Infrared eye on the Radio be disabled somehow? If not, where is it placed? Can it be blinded? I placed a phone book between the remote control and the radio, and this did not make any difference. It pickes up the signal perfectly - sadly ;) Hope someone can help...
