I'm still trying to get this all clear. After doing some research, I have discovered that LMS is the same or nearly the same thing as the Squeezebox Server. I suspect that LMS is open source software, and the Logitech version may be a or the official version. It appears that the last few responses are referring to 2 different approaches to restoring connection to the LMA. 1) This method uses a modified version of the "LMS", and may otherwise be compatible with the existing products delivering content to the Squeezebox Radio. It may require connecting your server to the web. Outstanding questions: a) Is the modified LMS available as a download, or does it require that the user hack the software themselves? b) Has Logitech abandoned this software product, i.e., will there be no more releases of the official Logitech version of LMS? c) Is there a way to know if the music server has a sufficient level of connection to the Internet to deliver content to the Squeezebox Radio other than to hack/load the new LMS and see if it works? d) If I'm understanding correctly, this change only involves the music server. Is it true that this approach requires no changes be made on the Squeezebox Radio, and all current functionality would remain the same (except that LMA would work)? 2) This method involves waiting until Logitech provides the UE upgrade path to Squeezebox Radio users. It may require connecting your server to the web. Outstanding questions: a) Will this work with the current, unmodified LMS? You lose the ability to connect to your local server, must have an internet connection and the UE online server must be up and running. You will no longer use LMS server on your computer. You "gain" the simplicity of not having to switch servers. My understanding is that UE Radio requires an Internet connection to play local files, and it sounds like this also applies to the patch you're discussing. I was led to believe that the local music server itself would need the web connection; is that also true with this patch? My music server is only connected to my local network, but the Squeezebox Radio is on the web. In some ways even fixed is not that helpful, as the really old problem with LMA is still there (that is, many, many shows don't show up in the item listings in the menu under an artist). I checked out the current 2.1 VB ISO it does not contain any changes in that file. So either it's not up to date or the fix was in some upgrade the VB users got ,or this fixed somewhere else in the code . I have not been able to find any source on the VB distro and it's changes ? maybe my google skills are insufficient . But anyway we have a workaround for the time being . Ok if I get this with +- the change is only that line ? feed etc ?
Because it works but only in the web-UI or on a SqueePlay device so
either i did it wrong or there is some more things i have to do .
but I suppose the functionality can be Limited to Web and SqueezePlay
when using uesr.com
So on the Boom menu it won't work and not in iPeng or SqueezePad

Is there any better method of getting to the Logitech/Squeezebox people to get this fixed? The bug report obviously does nothing, complaining on this forum has proved useless, the twitter feed hasn't been updated in 6 months, etc Has the company gone under? Have all the tech people been laid-off? Why is something that's as simple as changing a couple lines of code still not done after 6 months? I doubt anyone from Logitech is reading this, but for god sakes, what is do damn difficult about making customers happy? I used to rave about my Squeezebox.
