did you try the latest firmware?... if the snooze worked it looks like your NAS understands WOL (which was sent only at alarm time with the 7.5.0 firmware). Is there any progress with the wake-on-lan not working for the alarm? The radio should fire a magic packet 10 minutes before the scheduled time to wake up the server, but clearly its not working. No packet gets send. The bug was opened, and a devoloper modified some code, but it was left in a still not working state. I plan to purchase an extra netbook as a server, and I would definately be happy to use it for the alarm while not keep it running 24/7. I just voted for the bug because I experience this too. We need to determine a workaround for this. The default alarm startles me every morning I hear it instead of being woken up gently by my chosen alarm. What causes the Squeezebox server to go into standby mode? Is this the computer going into standby mode or the server software going into standby? Hi, well, the bug also exists in the 7.5 releases and nobody seems to care? Somehow I wonder if it is that complicated to send the WOL a few minutes before an alarm... this would solve a lot of problems people are experiencing with the SB radio alarm feature and SBS power-save. Your could provide the server-logs for more details (can be downloaded on the WebUI).. You could also enable Remote Access to your radio (AdvancedSettings) and the download the /var/log/messages from the Radio with a program like WinSCP after this has happened. your server wakes up too late. Alarm is set at 17:55, at 17:55:10 the fallback alarm fires, only at 17:55:29 your server is up and running. i thought Squeezebox Radio sends a WOL paket one minute before the alarm or so. The radio is supposed to send a WOL 10minutes before the alarm in 7.4.2. I'm not sure it really does - the code is there - but the one time I turned on a network sniffer I couldn't see any WOL (could have made a mistake though). As I have a 24/7 server I didn't look into it. I wonder if it is the same crazy music that my radio sometimes plays for the alarm in the morning? It's as irritating as hell, a fast and lively loop.
