Thanks for posting photos, Kellie. That is some impressive clearance on
the 26" version.

So my Atlantis was produced in "16. A 51 cm with 26" wheels. I've also had
Thunder Burts mounted; they're 2.1.

[RBW] Re: Schwalbe G-One Speed tire & Atlantis

2018-03-01 Thread Gabriel Bruguier
Matt-- I've been wondering the same thing about the G-one tires on my
Atlantis! I want to offer two bits of information that might be helpful.

Mine's an '03, 58cm, 700c version.

First, when I bought it, the previous owner reported that he had ran 2.35s
with no problem. No fender clearance, but they fit the frame.

Second, in the shop one night, a friend brought in his gravel bike with
2.25 knobbies on it. I put the front wheel on the Atlantis and there was
plenty of clearance all around (but not enough for a fender). I can only
assume it is the same in the rear.

I'd say go for it, and post lots of pictures!

These tires have no tread, so they will fit narrower than 2.35 mountain tire.
Mine measure closer to 2.25.

I guess that I should note that I am interested in 700c wheeled versions.
I ride a 61cm Atlantis.

to add to the above, I have RTP tires which are 2.3" and fenders with no

Re: [RBW] Re: Schwalbe G-One Speed tire & Atlantis

2018-02-28 Thread James Warren
You also have to be careful of the Atlantis's vintage. The older ones have less clearance. My Atlantis from 2001 cannot accept a nominal Schwalbe 55 but can accept a nominal Schwalbe 50. But more recent Atlanti can fit a Schwalbe 55.-Original Message-

Another consideration is actual tire size.  I had a 50 mm Schwalbe Marathon Supreme on Mavic A-719 rims that actually measured 46 mm and easily fit on my Atlantis.  dougPOn Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 3:22:28 PM UTC-8, Matt Beecher wrote:The Rivendell website lists these as going on an Atlantis, but it also says that the widest tire an Atlantis can take is 55mm, while these are 60mm.  Has anyone tried them on an Atlantis?  If so, can you give a ride report? Thanks,Matt B.Oswego, IL

I also wondered this same thing. I have a feeling that they fit and that
the clearances listed are just conservative, but it would be good to hear
an actual report.

Hmm... here's Cyclofiend's spreadsheet for the Atlantis. 2.35 inches is
max tire for a 51 Atlantis which I have. That's like 59.6 something mm.
