Both 18ah batteries and one 4ah battery weigh in at 2 stone even. And
a bushel is not a weight measurement, even in Jersey. Working on the
hopper this week. Looks like we'll be operational on the 29th.

So that would come out to be about 2 bushels, right? In that case,
why didn't you just say so? That's about 2/3s of what the Sherman
weighs. Dry weight that is.

[TANKS] Gettysburg Address?

2011-09-26 Thread Bill Byrnes
What is the address of the Oct 29 battle in Gettysburg?  Is it at a park or at
a private field?  Is there either an address or a landmark I can use to find it
on Google Earth?
Bill

RE: [TANKS] Panzer II 1/6 by Dragon

2011-09-26 Thread Guy Gregoire

Hi David, I bought it on ebay, the seller is 12inchmonkee. It was a nice
transaction
with a quick shipping. When buying on ebay you always better check the seller
history,
in this case he did over 400 transaction with a satisfaction rating of 100%, it
help to avoid
doing risky business.

As for this tank, I have not glue a single piece yet but I am very impress by
the thoughness
of it, the plastic pieces are think and strong, more than I was wishing even,
in the end it might
be possible to place some motors in it, but I better stop speculate as I still
have not look at all
the details, and I have a panzer III in steel to do the painball fight...if
ever there is one ennemy
tank in view.

Greg.

Hey Greg where did you order it for? I quit following Dragon awhile back when
they started screwing with people on how you could only
obtain the better figures from their online store out of Hong Kong.

Its a static kit and I dont intend to use it for the hobby, it must be to weak

[TANKS] Re: Model T Experiment

2011-09-26 Thread HV
Another comment on Frank's question (1) on a minimal tank.

A couple of data points on what is a proven minimal size for a tracked
vehicle that can (a) operate on outdoor terrain, and (b) carry a
payload such as a paintball gun:

1. www.superdroidrobots.com - The LT Tracked ATR robot kit.
L = 26"
W = 14"
Ground clearance looks about 2"
Measured amperage draw for a pivot turn in tall grass, 15 amps

2. www.robotshop.com - Dr. Robot Jaguar tracked mobile platform
L = 25"
W = 18.5"
H = 7"
weight = 30 lbs
LiPo batteries

These products indicate that "free-form" tracked vehicles for carrying
paintball guns could be significantly smaller in size, weight, power,
and cost than most of the 1/6 scale model tanks that have been built
(Panzer II possibly excepted?).
