Another comment on Frank's question (1) on a minimal tank. A couple of data points on what is a proven minimal size for a tracked vehicle that can (a) operate on outdoor terrain, and (b) carry a payload such as a paintball gun:
1. www.superdroidrobots.com - The LT Tracked ATR robot kit. L = 26" W = 14" Ground clearance looks about 2" Measured amperage draw for a pivot turn in tall grass, 15 amps 2. www.robotshop.com - Dr. Robot Jaguar tracked mobile platform L = 25" W = 18.5" H = 7" weight = 30 lbs LiPo batteries These products indicate that "free-form" tracked vehicles for carrying paintball guns could be significantly smaller in size, weight, power, and cost than most of the 1/6 scale model tanks that have been built (Panzer II possibly excepted?). -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
