Re: [TANKS] update on Talons
C is the peak discharge constant. Multiply it by the batteries capacity to get the actual peak discharge amount. a 2C 2Ah battery would therefore have a peak discharge of 2*2 = 4A. Those batteries are 5000mAh or 5Ah 20C. So 5 * 20 = 100A. 4 of them in parallel = 400A peak current output On Sunday, 25 May 2014 10:41:05 UTC+1, neroc1 wrote: > > These lipo`s look like a wonderful power solution ,inexpensive and > lightweight. > do you run them in pairs giving you half hour @ 22.2v / pair ? > What is the "C" in- "*Discharge*: 20C Constant / 30C Burst" ? > Is "C" the new letter for Amp , or am I missing something ? > > Neil R > > > su100t34 wrote: >> >> I use 4 and get an hour's run time. Interesting! That means we can increase this fuse to 50Amps… The Talons are rated to over 100Amps I believe! The motors will take that amperage as well. That was some “wicked” driving Mr. Tyng! Please remember that the Hetzer is driven very hard by a crazy man. She must be steered to aim her gun. In my opinion, Talons are still the most cost effective solution for our tanks. I simply wanted people to know that they are not indestructible. I read some more details about the improved Talon SR. I believe that the new "Synchronous Sign Magnitude Rectification" in the SR should be more robust for sudden motor reversal than the old "Locked Antiphase Rectification" in the Talons that I fried. We shall see if the Hetzer fries Talon SRs in future battles. Exponential throttle response (versus linear) would also help this sudden reversal problem. Perhaps someday Cross the Road Electronics with introduce a Talon SR with an exponential throttle option. Joe -- -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
