Re: [RE-wrenches] Outback AC Backfeed Error
HI Jon, Can you tell us how long the system has been operational? Trying to figure out if this is a new system or an older. And what size generator do you have? If its an older system and with a big generator/big loads then there is a possibility of damaged/sticky relays. jay peltz power > On Dec 14, 2020, at 9:07 AM, Tuss, Lones wrote: > > Hi Jon > Not much to go on here the suggestion to look for damaged relays is probably > a good idea. > Look to see if there is signs of arcing or the relay covers have a smokey > appearance. > You stated the system has worked for the last week and the AGS has gone > through several start stop sequences and the system error has not repeated. > It might be interesting to see if there were any warning in the event log > perhaps that would give more clues. > It is difficult to be certain when the system is currently functioning. > Sorry that is all I have. > Take Care Sir > > > From: RE-wrenches <mailto:re-wrenches-boun...@lists.re-wrenches.org>> On Behalf Of Jon > Siegenthaler > Sent: Friday, December 11, 2020 6:01 PM > To: re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org > <mailto:re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org> > Subject: [RE-wrenches] Outback AC Backfeed Error > > Hey wrenches, > > I have a client who has a couple of the Radian 8048's and has an error code > of "AC Backfeed Error GS-1". Re: [RE-wrenches] Outback AC Backfeed Error
Hi Jon Not much to go on here the suggestion to look for damaged relays is probably a good idea. Look to see if there is signs of arcing or the relay covers have a smokey appearance. You stated the system has worked for the last week and the AGS has gone through several start stop sequences and the system error has not repeated. It might be interesting to see if there were any warning in the event log perhaps that would give more clues. It is difficult to be certain when the system is currently functioning. Sorry that is all I have. You could try going through the stacking sequence again to make sure they can synchronize properly. This is a good test of that output relay in each Radian. If there's a problem, you won't hear them, and they are noisy. Like the instructions state be sure the output breakers are open! As William said... That is usually a relay issue. In the older FX's, it could also be a sticking issue like the hub or connections. Steve Higgins. Re: [RE-wrenches] Outback AC Backfeed Error
Wrenches Might want to look at the hub and data cables to the inverters, bad or poor connections can effect phases of the inverters, l have seen this manifest it self with errors like inverter firmware issues that in fact are bogus. The OEM cat 5 cables are not shielded and that causes problem when they are wrapped all around in a box. Easy to test with meters, how many times have you just rebooted or unplugged something for it all to get better.
