I understand the 'save/png' command, how do you use it with a view face
command?

[REBOL] Re: Rebol/Command

2001-01-12 Thread Dan Stevens

Guys, sorry it does not work that way. Please no "me too's" on this. You
must have an actual business reason for wanting to potentially buy
it. Distribution of evaluation versions is not open (not at this time).

If you are truly interested in buying a copy and the documentation on the
site plus your experience with Core and View is not enough, then please
send your formal request and reason for needing an evaluation copy to Bo or
Dan, but please do not send it to this list.

Thanks in advance,

Michael,
I found the info in the REBOL/View Users Guide @
http://www.rebol.com/view/docs/view-users.html under the "Events" chapter.
The "Easy Vid" documentation is also very good, its' available in the
REBOL/View Test Panel under http://www.rebol.com/view/reb/docs.r .

[REBOL] Re: Rebol/Command

2001-01-12 Thread Vos, Doug

Have you used rebol/core for for free yet?
What about rebol/view free version?

If you like those, chances are you will like REBOL/Command.

REBOL is not like most commercial products anyway...
Most commercial products take up 30 Megs
and take 15 days to install and learn...

[REBOL] Re: Where can I get documentation for the in-built functions of REBOL

2001-01-12 Thread Elan

Hi Gabriele,

what's the point of having a non-public documentation of undocumented
functions? Isn't something like having an expired credit card issued by
a bank that doesn't exit? (Not quite, but I like the image ...)
Anyway, if whoever has that documentation wants to make it public, cool.
If not, then why should that prevent us from creating our own?

Take Care,

Elan

Whoops, now that you make me think of it... protocols have the TCP

[REBOL] Re: Printing

2001-01-12 Thread bo

Robert,

You mean you didn't like my idea of doing a 'save/png 'to-image on the
layout (or face) you want to print and then do a BROWSE on that image and
selecting PRINT on the browser? :-)

Maybe you were looking for something a little more automatic. I don't blame
you.

On Amiga it isn't a big issue as you can use BROWSE and then you can use
an AREXX <-> REBOL bridge script to send the browser a command to print and
close the browser when printing is complete. Unfortunately, all platforms
are not this flexible. :-)

[REBOL] Re: Where can I get documentation for the in-built functions of REBOL

2001-01-12 Thread bo

This is one good option.

There are a couple other options available now (or in the future for some
of you):

- Rebol.org has a wiki with REBOL functions where contributors can
add their own information regarding the different functions. I
just tried it out and it appears to be fully functional.

http://www.rebol.org/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/rebol/wiki.r

- REBOL/Express (which will likely be opened up as a public beta
before too long) has at least a couple different tools already
built-in to help with organizing and delivering this type of
information.

* Reference.r is a lot like the above wiki.r where it allows
information to be added directly to the relevant function's
entry.

* The Knowledge Base is a user-extensible expert system that
can contain undocumented information, problem workarounds,
general knowledge, technical support help, etc. The
knowledge base can optionally be exported as a static web
site mirror of the data available in the knowledge base.
This may be done once the amount of data available in the
knowledge base is sufficient to warrant this.

At some point, I imagine someone will harvest information from all
available sources into one central master resource. The good news is
that there are at least a few options available out there. Now people
just need to use them!

Hi Petter,

you can find the header info in system/options/cgi. Note that besides
providing default header info, system/options/cgi also contains block
called other-headers, where remaining header info is stored.

The Vid keyword "sensor" seems to be able to detect only one event. What

[REBOL] Re: Output to DOS-Console

2001-01-12 Thread Geo Massar

Helmut,

Jeff got the answer for you. But, you need to pause a moment before you
can read the output file. If you want, I'll be glad to give you a short
DOS-based program that would poll (check) the availability of the output
file until the expiration is up. Put that program in a DOS batch file:
e.g.,

@echo off
rebol.exe -w %1 > out.txt
poll out.txt 10
type out.txt

The '10' is 10 seconds expiration, enough for a slow machine. The program
will exit if the output file is found before the expiration occurs.

Let me know if you want the program.

Elan you understood perfectly. And yes waitports: [] was a container for
appending and removing ports. Your help was perfect. Thanks for taking the
time to understand this. I hope you join us on EFNET #rebolgod sometime to
help us with other code problem or just to participate. I will be sending
you the full script to date if you would like to try it out and see what we
